I was in line tonight and overheard the manager having a conversation with the young lady working the register. The manager was having a conversation with the employee that should have been had in private & not while she's the only employee working. She was the only employee working in the entire store & the line was wrapped around & into the aisle. The manager and another employee then proceeded to stand around & literally watch the only cashier tend to the line backed into the aisle. I asked the one employee if she was the only one working within earshot of the manager, hoping it would prompt her & the other employee to open a register, but they just disappeared to the back of the store once I asked. I think this store needs a new manager. One with some professionalism & that doesn't think she's above working the register to help the customers. Really could not believe they were just standing there watching her work with the line so long. Unbelievable

I usually don't hop on Yelp and complain but this time I just have to.. This morning around 8:30 AM I walked in and said good morning with a huge smile on my face politely asking the cashier where I could find wristbands for a field trip I am taking my classroom to. She said she didn't know and said maybe check the back of the store over there " pointing, and some direction " As I'm looking around, not knowing exactly where she was pointing with her finger I went off, trying to find it myself. When I had no luck, I found a woman stocking the isles. She was very nice, but she did not know much English, so she took me back up to the front to ask the same woman I originally asked. I believe it was a Manager because she was in the office and she was talking to the employee behind the door. With an attitude in Spanish, she told her coworker we don't have any wristbands. I think it was VERY rude. Wasting my time looking around the store when I barely had any help at all just to tell me that they didn't have any. I've been in customer service ALL of my life, and when a customer comes into the store asking for help you don't point in the direction that it might be in. Aren't you supposed to get on your intercom and ask for someone to come up front to help the customer? Or at least say good morning. Give me one moment while I ring these people up and I will try to go find it for you? I'm just saying. This wasn't a great start to my morning... Very poor customer service on the managers part. If she doesn't like her job, she needs to get another one. Customers don't want to wake up to an attitude first thing in the morning. I will not be returning

***If you are a MINORITY (OTHER THAN MEXICAN), DO NOT GO TO THIS DOLLAR STORE; TAKE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE WHERE YOU WILL GET TREATED WAY BETTER AND NOT JUDGE BY THE COLOR OF YOUR SKIN.****If you are reading this and you are from dollar store corporate office or the franchise owner of this location, YOU NEED TO LOOK INTO THIS QUICKLY BECAUSE A LAWSUIT WILL BE CONDUCTED ON YOUR STORE MANAGER FOR HARASSAMENT.The manager of this dollar store at 315 S. Mason Road in Katy, Texas, 77450, is quite racist. She attempted to prevent me and my kids from making a purchase there by stepping in front of me as I put my item on the conveyor belt and yelling at me to go to another register where there was a large line. Later that day (07/02/2023) , my kids were accused of stealing by this same person. My kids started to leave the store without purchasing anything since the new foreign, non-English-speaking clerk declined their transaction. (There bank card has plenty of money to buy 4 dollar store items).The same manager approached my kids and told them to give her the dollar store bag. She was accusing them of stealing! My son raised his hands high over his head and stated that he didn't take a bag. This rude, loud, racist, anxious, and mean-spirited spirit manager didn't notice there wasn't a bag in his possession while standing right in front of him, yelling at him, of stealing. Then he told her to turn around and look, the bag is on the counter next to the cashier. She turned and look then said Oh, and walk a way. My 14-year-old son was extremely upset felt very humiliated, and angry for being accused of stealing, something he had never done in his life .

There were some bare shelves and so many displays in the aisles (making traveling difficult). The shelves looked picked over. It was around lunch time and perhaps employees were gone. Check out was slow but the checker was pleasant.

They've done a lot with this store, and they usually have everything that you see in the videos, so you get to do some fun diy stuff. But they need to check the dates on the food items before they clearance them and sell them. I ended up w 3 expired 1 year ago icing tubes, and they're rock hard.

Not a dollar store anymore, understandable though. And not fully stocked compared to 99 cent store across the street (which is not 99c anymore either)

The air conditioner was broken today..12/11/2022. Not so great working conditions for the only 2 girls they had on the registers for a weekend before the holidays. I wouldn’t buy anything edible at this location with the a/c being out. The line to check out is 30 minutes long!!!
