I left (1) star because that was the lowest you can go. As with other renters, trying to get a call back is useless. Neither the facility manager, nor the regional manager has ever returned a phone call.
To those of you that are new here to this facility, be on the lookout for rent hikes. Most recently, we were given a 23% increase in our rent. When asked, I was informed it was due to market studies. I have a climate controlled unit, on a second floor, back in a corner. That unit is NOT in demand, especially after the elevator does not work. The elevator has not worked in (2) months. I did catch an employee (not sure if she was the manager) and inquired about the elevator. She did not know anything...pretty much sums up whoever graces the office in this facility.
One of the other "perks" is the ability to open the gates from the phone app. That hasn't worked either the last few times I've been here. I bet that wasn't part of their market study!
When blessed enough to talk to someone about a better explanation on rent increase, I was told that I should go online and rent a new unit, then transfer my belongings from the old unit to the new. That was their answer. Go online and get a new unit.
This place will honor the rent for a brief time, but will eventually raise dues. I started out paying $87, and am now at $155. Elevator doesn't work, gates aren't working, facility personnel doesn't return phone calls, and yet, they want us to pay more for less. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. If you are thinking of moving into this place, don't.
Follow Up:
Regional Manager did call. My concerns were addressed, not all of them were resolved, as the elevator is still out, but a genuine discussion was had. Regional Manager wants this place to do well. Some of the lingering issues are above his ability to fix, but they are being addressed.

ATTENTION! UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT!
HORRIBLE customer service. The elevator are broken for the last 3 months. It used to be good before.
ALL the reviews are from before. Don't use they don't fix the elevator.

Last year management was good but there's new people here and they're very draining. My items have been being held hostage for over a month now. When I went to retrieve my belongings from the storage unit in August 2024 when the storage unit was up to date with payments the elevator was down and I can't physically carry boxes downstairs nor should I need to considering storage rent is ninety dollars per month. Actually to my knowledge the elevators are still down in October 2024, however, I'm waiting on them to take the lock off of the storage unit - I lost the key back in August when I went to pickup my stuff and the elevators were down. I'm not making anymore payments for the storage unit it seems as if they want me to file a small claims judgement against Cubesmart considering the phone tag games they like to play! If you're looking for storage needs-look elsewhere

This facility is terrible. The elevator to the second floor was out for a week and a half and the manager didn't seem to care. It worked for a day and then went out for another entire week. You could be stuck with no reasonable access to your stuff. Go somewhere else for your storage believe me.

Elevators do not work and have been out for weeks. No carts available. Employees just shrug their shoulders and imply that I should just go somewhere else to store my goods. Very dissatisfied.

Most outdoor units, if not all, get flooded due to storm drainage design. After smelling molds, we started taking out things to find the source. Mud marks half a way into storage and all in front half furnitures molded beyond salvage. As renter, you never visit storage in heavy rains so the time you get there, the water eventually drains. Owner knows this, also knows are no fix but still rents; malice, theft by design, act of ommission, willfully entering into wrongful and nonbinding contracts.
This is public fraud and theft since engagement is corrupt from incepywith selling a faulty product. Manager is rude, disrespectful, annoying, not caring or taking responsibility. Speaks a volume.
If you are renting, already been flooded by every rain.

This feedback is for the CubeSmart located on 25595 Westheimer Pkwy., Katy Tx - 77494 The only negative experience I have had is that the manager on duty is almost always never there and even after leaving a message, I never got a call back.
In fact there have been days when I first rented the storage facility that I went there 5 times throughout the day and still did not catch her in the office. Left 2 messages by using option #4 but she never returned any of my calls.
If only there was a way to get her to call you back, one could wait outside, but you never know when she will really be back. There have been times, she forgot to update or take down the incorrect return time setting on the "I'll be back soon" sign on the door.
Other than that it seems like the fill in managers never address any issues including dirty bathrooms with overfilling trash, no toilet paper and just plain dirt all over the hall ways. When the normal manager (the one that is always gone somewhere) is on duty, the place is more cleaner.
And finally when I moved out of unit # A1034 but still kept unit # A1033 because I had 4 days left on that unit, the manager failed to tell me that my existing code will not work and that I had to use another one for A1033. In the evening when I was moving out of A1033, I was locked out and had to call the main number by searching on Google to get someone to give me the correct code.
Other than that everything else was okay. My combined star rating is 3 for the entire experience, but really this is the actual breakdown.
1. Friendliness of the staff = 5 Stars
2. Cleanliness of the restrooms = 3 Stars
3. General cleanliness of the facility = 5 Stars
4. Ease of use of the facility = 5 Stars
5. Lack of ability to go there after 10 PM = 1 Star
6. The regular manager that hates to sit in that boring office and finds every excuse to run out and never return calls or is unable to remotely answer calls when she is running an errand = 1 Star.

I had good experience with this cubesmart....would recommend ?
