The only reason I moved out is because I moved 30 miles away to another greater Houston city. I had more interaction with the office staff when I first started renting. As time had progressed over the last five or 6 years ( it may have been even longer) I have not made as many visit to the unit. Unfortunately, there is not another location in my city. It has also been a true blessing because the rate was not increased every 6 months or so (unlike the new storage facility that I now have to rent from).

This was the best rental experience I’ve ever had. Christina (I believe that was her name) was so kind and helpful. This location started to experience some technical difficulties and their computers were down. She sprung into action with a backup plan to make sure other customers and myself were still taken care of in a timely manner. She’s an excellent problem solver and just a kind person overall.

A bit of patience may be needed, as the main office is under renovation/construction.
A temporary office is located within the gated area in one of the rental office spaces. There is an open gate to walk through and access the office. A small delay may be experienced in gaining gate access to drive through and park or access your rental if you do not have a storage unit gate code.
Completing online checkin before entering the office, then having you driving license and payment card in hand will expedite in-office pickup steps. There will also be phone based steps to complete when viewing your rental before departing- pictures and acceptance of the unit condition. Similar phone app steps make drop off of the unit really easy, with no paperwork to complete.

This has to be one of the best experiences I had renting a truck. The owner at the facility went out her way to make sure I was taken care of. My dolly wasn’t in the truck I had ordered. She went as far as to have someone bring it to my location. I went to pick it up myself though and she competed me for my mileage due to me having to drive the truck to pick it up during my move. I would definitely recommend this facility to everyone. My only gripe is the actual process of getting the truck through the mobile app was a little jaunting, but overall the experience was top tier!

Rented a uhaul I few weeks ago, rented it for one day but ended up extending for the week. Excellent services from the gentleman (I forgot his name) believe it was Chris. Displayed excellent customer services, will rent from this location again!

Truck I rented on 7/28/23 for one day use had 178,000 miles and was in poor condition. Driver side door was damaged and would not close properly. Transmission at times would not shift out of first or second gear. Reserved and paid for 12 furniture pads but only 3 pads were provided and was told by office employee that pads were not available and refund could not be provided. Tie -down boards inside the “box” were broken and could not be used. The Saums Road Storage location is junky and not maintained. Large sink hole in parking area is difficult to navigate around. The facility has no security fencing and has very poor lighting which created unsafe conditions for my late evening truck return. Do not use Saums Road Self Storage as first choice for Uhaul rentals!

Setup an appointment to rent a car hauler and got to location and nobody was there. I called and got sent to another location on fry rd. Was there for 30min just for them to tell me they can't let me take it cause of the tow vehicle being a truck. I told them what was the purpose of being asked all the questions about towing capacity, year, make, model, just to set it up only to be told no when I went to pick it up
