If you have Birch and need to cancel, they lock you in for another 45 days. You will need to send in your cancellation notice for your contract and ALSO give a firm disconnect date to avoid further charges. I can't recommend leaving this company enough. The rates are high, the contract is onerous, and the customer service is terrible. 0 stars

This company has made a business model on making it so difficult for a customer to leave them. The auto-renew your contract if you do not do every step correctly. We have never had a customer have a smooth transition from them and they do not care. Worst provider I have ever dealt with.

If it had no stars that's what I would give. Tried for over 2 weeks to get numbers transferred to another company. Systems are always down or it turns 5:00 while your on the phone and all of a sudden something happens! Company is a joke!

The absolute WORST customer service I have ever experienced. They also trap you into contracts, by not releasing your numbers to a new company and threatening to disconnect your service. I was on month to month, but because of their mistake I had to sign a 3 year contract (I was originally told it would be 2, but they knew I was stuck and took advantage)- they gave me no choice after shutting my service off and then taking 3 1/2 weeks to restore it. I could go on and on about my terrible service with Birch, but I would just advise anyone considering this company to stay away!

Birch bought Cbeyond. Look them up before you sign up. Avoid at all costs. (literally)
