DO NOT GET YOUR HITCHES INSTALLED AT THIS LOCATION.
I brought my Mazda SUV in for a full hitch and wiring installation. I drove 1-hour from Waco because this was the closest U-haul that came up on the website when I searched. It took over 3.5 hours which is 1.5 hours longer than expected when I made the appointment. I was charged $566 for Hitch Installation, Wiring Installation, Ball Mount, Class III Pin & Clip, 2" Hitch Ball, 2-3/16" Shank Length, Square Tube 2 inch Rec., Curt Taillight Converter 59236, Unlimited Lifetime Warranty, and a Wiring Service Plan. When I went to look at the installation I only saw a receiver, but no ball. So I went back inside to ask about it, and the man who had installed it said he wasn't aware that I had purchased the ball. Hmmmm... really? This made me VERY skeptical as to what else had they forgotten...
He spent another 15-minutes connecting the ball to the mount, which I had also purchased. When he came to hand me the mounted ball and the pin (another purchase that had been left out!), I asked him to show me the wiring he had installed. Turns out... HE HAD NOT INSTALLED ANY WIRING!!! He said they had the wrong product. The lady who checked me out said they had the product, but he didn't know how to install it. I never got a clear reason as to why it wasn't installed, but more importantly I paid for this service and equipment and my car still can't pull a trailer!!!
TWICE they almost sent me home with less than what I paid for. When we finally figured out what was and wasn't installed on my car, Margaret refunded me $200. She framed this a generous amount, but the reality was that I was actually owed more than this. Once I actually received the refund in my account, my new total would be $366. According to the U-haul website, the hitch installation and the parts I received at this location only costs $346.29. Plus, now I have to go to another U-haul location to get the wiring installed (and that is costing me more than $200). Such a waste of time and money!!

The ladies here are very rude, nice on the phone but very rude in person! Go to any other location in Killeen for fair service!

Overpriced and has roaches. Had a unit for 3 weeks and moved all my stuff out because when I took out one of my boxes that had shoes, at least 4 roaches came out. I had to squish them before they infested my apartment. Also they force you to use a specific lock that you have to buy. Seems redundant if the lock I was planning on using looks the same as the one this place uses. Unless it’s last minute or an emergency, I don’t recommend you store here.

I wanted to rent an appliance dolly. You cannot reserve one online if you aren’t renting a truck or trailer. I arrived early on Sat. morning, it was packed. I waited for 40 min in line, for them to tell me they didn’t have one for me to rent. There needs to be an express line for only renting smaller moving supplies/ buying boxes or other retail items that do not involve renting a truck or at least a kiosk to check in to when you arrive that will tell you if what you want to rent is available at that location. The only reason I’m giving 2 stars if because the lady did call another location to see if they had one and they did. She was not the friendliest about it but at least she called.

If I could this place a zero I would the woman at the front very argumentative didn’t want to help me at and even went out her way to rent the one item that I needed while trying to get clarity from customer service I would never recommend this location horrible customer service

Rude, lied about equipment requirements. Upcharged. Nickled and dimed gas. Was at 101 required 108 fuel range. Said I could go out more gas in it or be charged $8.50. Gathered my belongings went inside to check out was kind to the attendant. All I got was “I’m not doing, I can’t, call the 1800” to all the clients I understood the extra detail charge I gathered my things the attendant forced me to go back outside and would not check me out inside. I felt like a dog with its nose in mess did you do this? Clean it up AND I will make you pay. Forget U-Haul ever again. It cost $600 when I reserved a 12ft trailer but was told they do not do hitch hook ups once arriving. I was given a 10ft truck. That had a check engine light on and was told it’s normal. For the king of god almighty you were awful people

I’m from Atlanta I just moved here smh I’m regretting it already just by the attitude of the sales guy named James from this U-Haul location. I approached him in the store so I could return a trailer. I didn’t get a normal greeting as all customers should “hi, how are you? How can I help you?” He didn’t introduce himself and didn’t give me or my mom clear instructions on what he wanted us to do. He also stood there in front of us eating chips watched us unhook my car from the trailer with no assistance. SMH If you don’t like your job you need to find another one.
