Big Thicket National Preserve is a quiet and laid-back forest for trekking. It offers many relaxing walking trails, good long hiking trails in good condition, and a concrete bike path. The trails are well wooded for shade and are much more maintained than most state parks. The preserve features cool boardwalks, bridges in great shape, and nice amenities. It is an amazing place preserving an incredible landscape. Visitors feel very welcome by the helpful NPS staff. The trail can be humid and slippery, so proper shoes are recommended. It is worth the drive and worth checking out for a good hike.
Awesome trail! Also, thank you for trusting us to have campfire 🔥
