Dr. Dillman and her staff saved my cat's life! Unbeknownst to us, she had swallowed a rope necklace that she had chewed up days earlier and the pieces had gotten stuck in her large and small intestine. Dr. Dillman and her amazing staff performed emergency surgery on her that went late into the evening, and Dr. Dillman stayed the night at the clinic to make sure that my cat recovered. If they had not acted as quickly as they did, she would not have made it. I appreciate the extensive communication- I was made aware of every step of the plan of action leading up to the surgery and was given updates regularly. Their efficiency, kindness and great skills saved out beloved pet's life and we will be forever grateful!

This place is excellent. The office is nice and they even proivde complimentary coffee and sodas. Dr. Dillman was very thorough and patient with our dogs. She clearly explained everything and took the time to answer all my questions. I would definitely recommend this vet!

This place is just all around amazing. We have been taking our dogs there for 3 years (and we're there a lot, at one point we had 5 dogs, now 4). Both Dr. Bryant and Dr. Dillman have been extremely attentive to each one. Last year, one of our dachshunds was diagnosed with a very progressive cancer. Dr. Dillman went over all of the options with us and we made the decision to go ahead with emergency surgery. Dr. Bryant performed the surgery and essentially saved our boy. After surgery, he had to have care 24 hours a day. We received a call at 4 am from the overnight hospital he was in (not plum creek), that we would have to come in a few hours later to make the decision to put him down. Dr. Dillman asked if she could meet us there (on her day off) and literally held our hands and wiped our tears as we once again heard the options. We decided he was a tough guy and we just hoped he would make it (they gave him about 4 months to live). He lived exactly one year longer and we wouldn't go back and change any of it for the world. This team of extremely knowledgable doctors gave him the best year of his life. He was more energetic and youthful than he had ever been. We now live over an hour from Plum Creek but we still take the other 4 to them because we love and trust them so much. I would never recommend another doctor over either of them in the greater Austin area. Truly THE BEST.

Dr. Bryant and her staff are amazing! I went to Dr. Bryant a few months ago with my beloved friend Mr. Poopers, he and I have been family for more then 14 yrs. He developed a hacking cough which progressively got worse over a few months. When I initially went to Dr. Bryant I did not expect a good outcome. Dr. Bryant and her staff showed an amazing compassion and knowledge. They were kind to Mr. Poopers and myself. They walked me through the exam, the xrays and also the diagnosis of a collapsing trachea. We were given medication and sent home with hope! I am happy to report that with continued guidance from Dr. Bryant, Mr. Poopers is still alive and happy, playing with his precious Monster (toy) every day! I cant say THANK YOU enough Dr. Bryant! I will continue to come to Plum Creek Vet with all of my pets, and with Mr. Poopers, you have given us extended time together which is more then words could express, I trust you completely. Sincerely, Charlene Smith Mr. Poopers and Cosmo

The vet seems knowledgable and caring but her staff leaves much to be desired. Every appointment I've had, I had to wait around 30 minutes to see anyone and there was no one else waiting. Whenever I haven't wanted a particular medicine or treatment for my dogs, the staff was always very stubborn about insisting on me purchasing it because they thought it was best. During appointments, treatments and medicines were administered BEFORE I was briefed on what exactly they were for and how much they would cost. Any question I've had for the staff, no matter how simple, always had to be referred to the vet because they didn't know. Lastly, this would be a great clinic if it were better staffed and managed better. I like the vet but I won't be returning due to these costly problems.

I formerly had a glowing review for this practice. Other than a reliably long wait, even when no other clients were in sight, it was fine for routine check-ups. Once my pet got sick, things changed. When my cat needed surgery, I pointed out that the cost quote from another vet's office was lower, and Dr. Bryant made much of the fact that the lab she uses is more expensive, but we'd have results much faster. What a joke. Not only did I end up not hearing the results from her for almost five weeks, despite frequent calls, but she was scheduled to up and away on a cruise just days after. So she told me how she'd be able to go over the results with me soon after the surgery, fully knowing she wouldn't even be in town. During this long, concerned wait, one day the new vet, whom I've never even met before, finally came to the phone and told me my cat had cancer, and that she wasn't well-versed in that area and couldn't go over treatment options, but that Dr. Bryant would be in touch with me soon. This was not the case. We were very upset about the results, so I called about once a week, but more weeks went by before I received a voice mail from my cat's vet. As calling the office had never been fruitful and I was always incorrectly informed that my call would soon be returned, I decided to email her with the questions I had. Before the surgery, she'd sent me an email, inviting me to contact her with any questions, so this seemed like a good way to discuss the cancer and my cat's care. That did not work either, as months have gone by and I have never again heard anything from this unresponsive office. In the past, I truly felt like they cared, but after this emotional ordeal of poor communication when I finally discover my cat is dying, I am finished with them. Also, I thought it was an asset that they offered adjuvant-free vaccines, since adjuvants can cause tumors at the injection site, but it doesn't seem to matter in this case, since my cat developed tumors anyway. It cost a great deal of money for this diagnosis that took forever to receive as well. I truly regret the recommendations I had made on Yelp and to others in the community and have heard several times about better vets in the area. You can definitely do much better.

I recently moved to Houston and already miss Plum Creek and Dr. Bryant. My dog, Albus the Great Pyrenees, likes to get injured and sick with various mystery ailments. For example, he has skin issues and has the tendency to eat large quantities of things that are bad for him, such as a pound bag of dark chocolate covered espresso beans. Needless to say, a good vet who will be real with you is essential in owning my high maintenance child. We were recommended to them by the PAWS shelter, and our first check up was free. When Albus got sick from eating dog poison aka chocolate covered caffeine, they had us bring him in and tried some basic measures before busting out the big guns. Luckily, they were able to get him to throw up (lovely I know) without doing anything drastic. They EASILY could have told me they had to do open heart surgery on him and I would have forked over the credit card, but they were honest and only did what needed to be done to help him. When he got sick from eating bad canned dog food (or something), they told be that they could give him a steriod but it may not even help and was really expensive and probably unnecessary. Any vet that advises you NOT to buy their expensive medicine gets 5 stars in my book! If you have an emergency, they are there to help. They will do everything possible to fit your pet in for an appointment ASAP. They send doggie birthday cards. They call to follow up. And they didnt try to sell us dog food (which is a first!) Oh, and there are free sodas, coffee, and dog treats. I mean, come on! Dr Bryant is so sweet and comforting and always remembered us and my dog - she really made us feel comfortable and welcome. She would walk us through everything to make sure we knew what was going on. She really loved Albus... or she is a really good actress - either way, she won us over.

I LOVE this vet! I have three dogs and two have been in to see Dr. Bryant (luckily, one hasn't had the need yet!). Things that I love about this vet...where to start.... 1 - the office is clean, bright, and smells nice 2 - even when they have no appointments available, they will do everything they can to help your animal if they MUST be seen that day (like in the case of my lab with a nasty abscess that needed immediate attention). 3 - ALL of the staff is amazing. You are greeted at the front desk by friendly people and the love that every staff member has for each animal is evident. 4 - EVERYTHING is explained in detail and the examination is very thorough! Have you ever forgotten something a vet has told you about your precious pet? No worries here -- there is a complete "report card" with anything and everything that was noticed about your pet! Everything is explained in detail and every examination point is recorded from where your pet has tartar on their teeth, to exact locations of fatty tumors (our lab is an old boy), to having clean or dirty ears -- etc etc etc. This provides a great baseline record for future visits as it is in my experience that some of these details are not recorded by a lot of vets and are just brushed over. 5 - Still have questions after reading your report and getting your pet home? Call them up and either Dr. Bryant or the techs will answer your questions in a very nice, down to earth manner that NEVER feels rushed even though they are always busy! 6 - Dr Bryant doesn't ever seem to want to add services on that aren't needed. A lot of times we have felt as though things that were unnecessary were performed or given to our pets just to make extra profit. With three seemingly high need dogs (from tearing ligaments, back disease, thyroid issues and a heart attack we've seen a lot with our pets!) we can often feel as though we've been taken for a ride --- but not here. I still have that nervous feeling before hearing what my balance will be -- and every time I feel as though it is 100 to 200 dollars less than what I would expect from previous vet visits at other places! I cannot recommend Plum Creek Veterinary Hospital enough! We are transitioning all of our dogs to Dr. Bryant and look forward to the care that she and her staff provide. I also heard from Dr. Bryant that another vet will be joining the practice in the coming months which should help with wait times and booking appointments :)

I met Dr. Bryant when she was at Brodie in Austin. My cat was diagnosed with diabetes and I was obsessed with researching the disease......Dr. Bryant was open to all the crazy info I would bring her. She truly has something extra special about her and the way she cares for your pet AND you!! She will answer all of your questions and explains everything in great detail so you don't feel at a loss. If anyone has had a seriously ill pet, you know how important compassion is and knowing your pet is in good hands. Dr. Bryant let me know she was opening a practice in Kyle and I was so happy for her, but also sad b/c she was my fave. Did I really want to drive 24 miles to Kyle? So, I went to Brodie one more time, and seriously, they are great....but I decided after that visit that yes, I will be driving 24 miles to see Dr. Bryant! There is no other vet for my pets than Dr. Bryant. You will be very happy with Plum Creek's staff too. They go above and beyond to help you. From the vet techs and front desk, they are all just as kind and caring as Dr. Bryant. Love love love Plum Creek!

I went to Plum Creek Veterinary Hospital after adopting my cat from the Town Lake Animal Shelter in Austin because it was the closest vet to me on the list of offices that offered free exams for new pets. I grew up with cats, but I'd never taken any of my pets to the vet on my own, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Dr. Bryant and the staff were GREAT. The office itself is very clean and bright. They were extremely helpful and courteous, and made sure to keep my cat as comfortable as possible. Luckily, my cat wasn't nervous at all, but that didn't stop them from loving on him and complimenting him constantly. It was really sweet. Dr. Bryant even took the extra time to check him for ringworm, just in case, because he had a bald spot on his back from a healed scratch. I really appreciated that they treated him like a valued patient even though the exam was completely free. I was interested in getting sedatives for him recently (we had to take a long car ride), so I called and asked about them, and they quickly prepared a prescription for him. I wasn't able to pick them up for about a month, but when I finally went in, they were still ready at the front desk, and even quartered into smaller doses for me. When I move to north Austin in a few months, I plan to make the drive down to Kyle to continue seeing Dr. Bryant.

I've liked Dr. Joey Bryant when she was a tech w/ Brodie Oaks for Dr. Werner. She became my little Meshoe's favorite Vet. For me, she was always prepared, and her diagnosis and treatments have always been right on. When Meshoe suddenly passed away, I was broken, I had to add that. I then found out she went into practice for herself in Kyle. Well I live in Kyle, this was the only thing that could get me away from Dr. Werner's office. When I fell in love with a rescue Frenchie (Mia Bug) I went to Plum Creek. Dr. Bryant is great in every way you would rate a Vet. Dogs I love and have entrusted to her capable hands. Julie, Meshoe, Sandy, Chancy, Shubby, Kloie, Blue, Bonnie, Ralphie and many others, Thank you Dr. Bryant, and a shout out to Dr. Werner.

There are just so many great things to say about Dr. Bryant and her wonderful staff that I hope I have enough room here and can express it. I moved to Austin this year and have been looking for a vet clinic nearby. My neighbor suggested Dr. Bryant and had such a glowing review of how she treats her dog so I made my appointment. It had been a trying morning the day I was taking my dogs in and I was rushed and a bit stressed. No worries though because the office was calm and inviting. All of my dogs' information was available to the vet tech already thanks to the efficient front desk staff so we were seen right away. The vet tech input my concerns about both dogs and Dr. Bryant came in not long after. Since it was our first visit, Dr. Bryant thoroughly checked out both my pups and then addressed my concerns. I'm happy to report both dogs LOVED her and her staff and gave them lots of kisses. The prices are very reasonable and an itemized bill explains the charges clearly. After I got home, I received a full report via email on both dogs from Dr. Bryant with her recommendations and have access to the "pet portal" that shows all my dogs information. I am so very happy with Dr. Bryant and her staff that I would love to give them more stars!!
