“Wonderful Venue and Team! My husband and I got married at The Hummingbird House in November of 2023. Our wedding was everything we could have ever hoped for! We toured the place with the owner Danny and he was so kind and personable. When we booked the venue we got their planning package and I cannot recommend it enough. We feel so lucky to have had Kelsey help us plan our wedding! She was incredible! I had attended very few weddings and felt very intimidated by planning one myslef. She answered all our questions and gave great suggestions. Kelsey was also super sweet! I was sad to say good bye to her at the end of our wedding! I really cannot imagine our day with her help. My husband and I felt that Kelsey and Danny both truly cared we had a memorable wedding day and were happy for us. On our actual wedding day it rained all day. Kelsey was so sweet and worked so hard to help keep the plan that we had agreed on. Thankfully it stopped raining right before we went to plan B! Our wedding was beautiful and we will always cherish it. I cannot thank the Hummingbird House enough for helping us have a beautiful start to our marriage!”

“Hands down best mini golf near us! - live in San Marcos. Great spot, well shaded, very nice staff, I’m a military veteran and I love history so I definitely loved the finishing touches they gave the course. They also have a playground, food truck and mini disc golf course on the property too! Very fun for the whole family. You can easily spend a full day here. I’m even going to host my birthday here!”

“Rented this venue for our daughter’s first birthday!! It was excellent!!! The rustic table and look was perfect!! Cows and horses that came up then the fence right next to us was a refreshing scene. This place is so beautiful!!! On site help the whole 6 hours we rented for and our guests loved the views. If you are looking for a fresh outdoor venue Southern Star Events and Farm is the place to rent! It will not disappoint.”

“The VFW was a fantastic and affordable venue to host our family event, Sweet 16. The auditorium comfortably held 150 people with a stage for the DJ and enough space for food buffets and dancing. We very much appreciated their accommodations!”
“I’m giving 4 stars because this place definitely needs some updates. Most of the range balls are cracked or completely flat, which really takes away from the experience. A few of the hitting mats are also worn out and should be replaced.
Another issue is the large sign at the front of the range — it blocks a lot of visibility for anyone hitting from behind it. On top of that, there aren’t many real targets to aim at, which makes it feel less like actual practice and more like just hitting balls into an open field.
That being said, it’s still a fun and affordable spot to spend some time. With a little maintenance and a better setup, this place could easily go from good to great.”

The space was more than adequate, the set-up for chairs and tables was helpful, bar service was very much appreciated, and the catering by Lonnie, the gentleman who rented the space to us, was superb.6/5 Stars.
