“Had my wedding here last night! My family had a blast. The pool was a great photo opportunity. The staff was friendly and attentive. The bartender was friendly and kind. Very cute venue”
“We truly could not recommend Hummingbird House and Kelsey our coordinator enough! The venue is absolutely beautiful and genuinely feels like you’ve been transported somewhere completely outside of Austin. The gardens are so lush and incredibly well maintained, and the newly updated tented reception space is STUNNING. Everything came together even more beautifully than we imagined.
Danny, the owner, was wonderful and so helpful and responsive throughout the entire planning process.
Kelsey was also absolutely amazing from start to finish. We had multiple meetings leading up to the wedding where she helped us work through all the details and took so much stress off our plates. On the wedding day, she was there working from early in the day until well after the wedding ended, making sure everything was organized, seamless, and running smoothly behind the scenes.
Beyond being so organized and on top of everything, Kelsey and her second Taylor were also such a calming presence. They were so genuinely so kind, friendly, and reassuring throughout the entire process and made us feel completely taken care of. Your coordinator has such a huge impact on your experience of the wedding day, and we truly could not have asked for anyone better.
Our wedding was everything we hoped it would be, and Hummingbird House and Kelsey were such a huge part of making that happen. We are so grateful and would recommend them over and over again!”

“Hands down best mini golf near us! - live in San Marcos. Great spot, well shaded, very nice staff, I’m a military veteran and I love history so I definitely loved the finishing touches they gave the course. They also have a playground, food truck and mini disc golf course on the property too! Very fun for the whole family. You can easily spend a full day here. I’m even going to host my birthday here!”
“One of the few places that sell mead. Love it here, make sure to stop buy and play d&d nights every Sunday. Get some pizza rolls or a pizza combo for the munchies.”
“Love this concept! I wasn’t quite sure what the name was referring to other than the biblical reference. Our server, Ali, who I thought was the manger explained the concept and helped guide my party through the menu to make the right wine choices for each of our palettes. Will definitely be coming back!”
“Im not sure if this space is still open. I’ve tried contacting the phone but receive no response. The last few reviews are from at least two years ago. It’s a shame, seems like such a cool space.”
“Rented this venue for our daughter’s first birthday!! It was excellent!!! The rustic table and look was perfect!! Cows and horses that came up then the fence right next to us was a refreshing scene. This place is so beautiful!!! On site help the whole 6 hours we rented for and our guests loved the views. If you are looking for a fresh outdoor venue Southern Star Events and Farm is the place to rent! It will not disappoint.”
“I don't know man. Maybe it's the vibe of old school cantina or hanging out with fellow vets that keep me coming back. Or perhaps it's having some of the coldest beer I've ever had. Hell, i dodnt know i loved Lone Star Light that much until i started drinking it here. Funny thing, i dont drink Lone Star Light anywhere else - why? The many places I've tried can never get it as cold as here and it never tastes the same.
The place is no frills and there's an assortment of chips for purchase. You can bring in food if you'd like. Sometimes, on weekends, especially during football season, one of the patrons may bring in eats to share during the games.
With or without food, this low key, diver VFW is king.”
“Um...... AWESOME! So peaceful, so calm, so quiet. What a great place to just un-plug. Two nights here and I feel more recharged than weeks vacation. Set back way off the main road. The chickens are a nice element. We stayed in the rooster. Ample space for two and very comfortable.

“Merryvale is an absolutely GORGEOUS outdoor wedding venue! From the twinkle lights, large trees, rolling hills, deep sunsets and dancing under the stars- you can't beat this venue! I fell in love with this venue the first time I toured! However the owner was somewhat distracted the few months leading up to my wedding. She became a grandmother the week of my wedding, so some of this is excusable. The day of though, she was treating ant beads and spraying away wasp nests. This probably should of been taken care of before hand. Thankfully I am a patient and a somewhat chill bride. This probably would have stressed any other bride day of. I recommend that the owner hires a venue manager so that these tasks are off her plate. This beautiful venue deserves the attention of a full time manager. I'm so glad I had a top notch wedding coordinator to keep everything moving and organized. Everything went WONDERFUL by the way! If you choose this beautiful venue hire an outside coordinator and all will be fine.”
“I had the opportunity to work at Pecan Grove in fall of 2018 as a photographer. I absolutely adore the towering trees that canopy the ceremony space, as well as the warm wooden exterior of the reception hall. The wedding I shot here happened on a rainy day, and the weather was gracious enough to hold off during our couple's ceremony. Pecan Grove felt cozy and romantic during this wedding. Highly recommend!”
“this place was fun, my friend and i went the other day! it’s an open field and has markers. i will say the mats are pretty roughed up, but you can move down to the grass which i did. the ground is very hard though so getting a tee in is difficult. but the prices are cheap and they have golf cats which i loved! the guys in the shop are nice and friendly!! def a fun place to just hit some balls! Also TXST students get a discount! :)”

“Cozy and quiet with gorgeous rooms and tons of places to visit within walking distance. These are old houses so, though some of the other rooms may be wheelchair accessible, the one we stayed in, Barton Creek, definitely is not. Their concierge system is also mostly done by text which is nice.”
“I rented out a spot for a baby shower this past weekend and it was great! The space was more than adequate, the set-up for chairs and tables was helpful, bar service was very much appreciated, and the catering by Lonnie, the gentleman who rented the space to us, was superb.6/5 Stars. I would definitely recommend this spot and the services provided to anyone looking to host a gathering.”
