I stopped for fuel...Only one cashier apart from the bakery. She couldn't accept cash and said I'd have to pay at the bakery cashier.. we're there was a huge line... shouldn't have to wait in a huge bakery line to pay for diesel so I paid with my card which I didn't want to use. Once I started fueling, the pumps were so slow, it took 7 minutes to pump $50 of the $100 and I ended up giving up and leaving without all the fuel I purchased because I was now running late for my appointment and causing me to have to stop again later for more fuel. Slow pumps are a sure sign that the pump filters are clogged and need to be changed..... never again will I stop here.

This was not my first visit. Any time we are anywhere near LaGrange, Texas we stop here. Most people stop for the bakery, which is also outstanding with a huge selection of pastries, but I'm totally in love with the sandwiches. They also have great soups. Service is fast and friendly, and about all I can add is if you get my favorite, the philly sandwich, grab a lot of napkins. It's messy and delicious. Oh, and the Rueben isn't shabby either.

I'm 100% so kolaches are pretty important business to me. I like the original kolaches and not the fake stuff. Time after time, Weikel's proves to be the real deal and worth the stop. They are probably the largest kolache bakery/convenience stop in the area and they are clean and have a good variety of interesting food and items. My favorites have always been the apple strudel, poppyseed kolaches, homemade bread and noodles! Worth the stop!

We love everything that is sold in this quick stop. The kolaches and sweets are amazing. The sandwiches and pies are delicious. And the Honey Bees pecan rolls are super special pieces of goodness. But the people who wait on you are so unfriendly. No one smiles. Answers are curt and rude like you are bothering them by asking. Too many other places in town sell kolaches and sandwiches. Hopefully I’ll find the pecan rolls some place also. This was not an isolated incident. It is every time we shop there. Therefore, We won’t be back

If you on your way to AustinTx from anywhere south stop off in Lagrange Tx at weikel’s Bakery! Everything in there is delicious! We got a sausage and egg croissant which sounds so typical but it was anything but. Soft buttery homemade croissant, delicious homemade sausage which was the highlight of the sandwich and a perfectly fried egg. We also got a cream pastry and a chocolte pastry for later… omgosh the cream one was our fave!! This is a lil off the beaten path gem

I've made it a point to eat my favorite, poppy seed kolaches all over the state of Texas. I've been far north and down south and the best is Weikels Bakery. It doesn't matter if you are in LaGrange, Carmine, or Brenham nobody beats them hands down. Their secret is they don't make them extremely large where they are too bready tasting. They don't over sweeten them. The most important trait is they load the poppy seed up and do not ration it like almost everyone else. Their poppy seed bars have icing, coconut, and nuts and they too are loaded down with poppy seed filling. I know of nowhere else that adds all three toppings to the bars. Weikels is trying to make the best poppy seed kolache they can and not cutting quality to make more profit. This is how my old Czech aunt from Europe made them in the 60's when I grew up.

It sounds ridiculous to rate a gas station but this gas station’s bakery and food selection make it a perfect stop for a fill up. They have a deli, bakery and all that you’d expect from a convenient store. I got a chef salad that was amazingly fresh and delicious. They also have a little gift shop inside which seemed kinda cute.

We received kolaches from my son and daughter in law as a Christmas surprise and what a surprise it was. Kolaches were identical to those I and my wife enjoyed growing up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa at our local Czech bakery. My wife is of Czech heritage (has a "z" in her maiden name) and we never thought we could get those kolaches again. Never knew there was another place with such a Czech heritage and have no idea how they found this bakery but sooo glad they did. Thank you, Weikel's. Have you ever heard of the Czech heritage in Cedar Rapids?

We love the kolaches especially the poppy seed. Homemade wheat bread makes awesome sandwiches. Fun place to visit.
