I selected 1 star because 0 stars is not an option. Before I wrote my review, I read several others from other customers and so manny others had the same issues that I had. My former ccu closed and customers were merged to Coastal a few months ago. Ever since the merge I have had issues with this ccu. Just to list a few. 1. From the very beginning it was almost impossible to get someone to answer or to return my calls. 2. Since, no one would answer or return my calls I would have to drive to Lamarque ( the closest branch) from League City, to ask a simple question. 3. When I went to the bank I had to wait 30- 45 minutes just to get a debit card. 4. When I went to use the debit card to make a purchase in the grocery store, I could not use the card because it said expired. This took place 3 days after I went to get the card. 5. When I called to ask why my card was not working, it took the accounting department to tell me what was wrong with the card. 6. My card was fixed by the accounting department . A few weeks later my mortgage was late because my account number was considered to be invalid. 7. I called for two hours and left messages to have someone to call about my account number. No one never returned my calls, so I had to drive to Lamarque again to find out why my account number was not working. Basically they did not agree that there was a problem. MeanwhIle my mortage was late. I closed my account and took my money to another ccu, so I could get my mortage paid. I have never experienced anything like this before... completely, unbelievable customer service that warrants a zero.

I moved from Galveston County almost 7 years ago and trying to get ANY department on the phone for assistance is almost impossible. I lost a substantial amount of money due to there customer service, I would NOT recommend anyone bank with this institution if you do not live there.

I wish there weren't any stars this credit union is horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been a member since 1997 and the treatment I receive is horrible. Some of the changes being made are ridiculous. No member perks, some of the staff members are extremely rude and not even close to being polite. The name shouldn't have community anywhere in it because it definitely isn't the community. The only reason I'm Giving 1 star is because 0 wasn't an option, so the star is for the under paid employees that are having to deal with this backlash from upper management and board member decisions.

This bank is the worst I have ever dealt with. The customer service alone deserves less than a star. Their lack of customer service cost me thousands because I had to probate my father's will just for this account because they could not add a beneficiary (my mother) to his account in a timely fashion (months). Now, trying to close the account is a nightmare. They continually waste my time and get nothing done. I recommend looking elsewhere for banking if you are considering using them. Every bank is better than this one, and I don't say that lightly.

The Loan Department has failed to provide my title to my RV for a loan paid off in October 2022. I have reached out to them multiple times and been given excuse after excuse. The President of the credit union has been copied in multiple emails and I have emailed her directly with no response. I have my bank statements that show the money was wired into the credit union and my loan was paid in full. You can call daily during business hours and never get an answer. BEWARE of doing business with Coastal Community - their service is less than one star.

Coastal FCU let my insurance expire after Bianca had called my insurance company on 9/27 to verify the amounts and said she would drop the checks off, that never happened. My mortgage is with Coastal and I have an escrow account but my insurance never gets paid on time. This started last year, 2021. I had to go to the credit union on the day my insurance was due to expire and they cut a check which I had to drop off to my insurance company. This year, 2022, when my insurance was almost due I called the credit union on 3 occasions and left messages. Not one of my messages was answered, nobody bothered to call me back. I went to the credit union to inquire if my insurance had been paid because my insurance agent kept contacting me saying it hadn't. The credit union had no idea but was able to show that the checks had been written but nobody knew if they had been dropped off or mailed to my insurance company. They weren't and someone finally put them in the drop box at my insurance company on 10/6 after my insurance had expired. I have an escrow account and it makes no sense that my insurance can't be paid before it expires. The checks were cut on 9/27 and weren't dropped off until 10/6. I hear Bianca is in charge of handling this and she was no where to be found. The employees at Coastal had no idea where she was and she wouldn't answer her cell phone when they tried calling. I don't know Bianac, she never returned my calls and no one knew where she was when I went in. I don't appreciate the way she mishandled my insurance payments. I pay my bills well before the due date and expected to Coastal to do the same and certainly not wait until my insurance expires. The money was there to pay them but Bianca failed to do so. She needs to go or maybe I should. She seems to do things on her schedule and has no integrity and total disregard of the customers. Something has happened with Coastal, they aren't the same dependable FCU I once knew and was happy with. I don't think Bianca knows how to do her job or she just doesn't care. Why can't she return calls? Why does no one at the credit union know where she is? She wasn't in her office and would not answer her cell phone when they tried calling her. KDH 10/07/2022

This was such a bad experience. The loan officer working 12/8/18 didn't even want to take my application after I waited in line for over 30 minutes. I have never been treated so rudely by a bank.
