They took our " non refundable" deposit and then after having to chase them down, calling over 24 times with no answer and no return calls, we drove to La Marque to see if they were still in business. Someone was there and when she called, they answered! Then promises made to pour the concrete, then Sam Jeffords told me he was broke when I asked for a refund then told me the deposit was non refundable and to "stand in line" for my money. That is stealing in my book! Then had the nerve to text me and said " Thank you for helping us slide into bankruptcy ". Thieves, Sam Jeffords and his sons......

I would give this company zero stars if I could. Do not do business with Paradise Palapas or Paradise Outdoors. The company changes their name, but they are the palapa company located off of I-45 in La Marque. This is not an honest company and they do not stand by their work. Thomas, with Paradise Palapas donated a $2000 gift card for a silent auction to a PTO at a nearby elementary school. I was the silent auction winner of the gift card. I visited the business and met with Thomas who allowed me to upgrade my purchase to a $5000 palapa with a $2000 credit towards it since I had the gift card. Thomas was scheduled to come out to look at our backyard, but he never showed up. No calls, no emails, no follow-up. He ignored my calls so I had to send him a facebook message. He did respond at one point and apologized for the missed appointment. We rescheduled, but he again never answered my calls. I sent messages again through Facebook, but he ignored those. I ended up calling him from an anonymous number and he FINALLY answered. He informed me that he "no longer works at that company" so my gift card could not be honored. He told me to try and call the number listed on the website, but that number only goes straight to voicemail. I was under the impression from my initial visit that Thomas was the owner of the company, but he now acts like he isn't the owner. I looked up the company and noticed over the years they have had several tax liens against their business from the state of Texas so that tells me what kind of individuals they are. I think it is really bad that they would do this to a PTO organization and an elementary school, money that should be used for children.

Galveston County records show the company was established in November of 2011 under the owner name of Samuel Jeffords III. Thomas Jeffords was the individual I spoke with. The BBB online shows the company was established in November 2012 under the owner name of Mr. Josh David Jeffords. In looking at Galveston County records, Joshua Jeffords and Samuel Jeffords have opened and closed several businesses over the years (Clear Choice Contractors and The Cedar Connection). The Galveston County database also shows that many of these individuals have also had child support liens and federal tax liens against them. Just another reason to be concerned with doing any business with these individuals.

We just had a palpa built by paradise. They came out to give us an estimate and give us a design that was able to keep us from having a post directly in front of the beach entrance on our pool. They were able to build a 40 X 14 palapa in less than 3 days. The finished product looks awesome. It really accents the pool and now our backyard looks like a resort. We were very happy with the whole experience. I would definitely recommend them. Drew and Josh did a great job and gave us some real good ideas. The crew that did the work were very professional.

Josh and Drew. We just wanted to let you know how please we are with our Palapa. We spent hours just relaxing underneath it over the weekend, had several meals and it makes the morning coffee even better. It has dramatically change the look of our backyard. Your guys did a great job. Sorry they got a little wet but it was probably better than all day of sun. We have to admit it was very difficult going back to work this morning after such a relaxing weekend. Thanks again, Jerry and Anja Norris

I have wanted a palapa for years & finally got one built. The result is an unanticipated delight, far exceeding my expectations. It is beautiful, exotic, cozy & fun - and it makes me so happy sitting under it. Thank you, Josh, for your outstanding customer service. Please let your workers know how much I appreciated their work ethic & honesty as well.

After a recommendation from a friend, I decided to have Paradise Palapas create my backyard oasis. I had them do a large round tiki hut, and a full outdoor kitchen next to my pool. It turned out amazing! paradise every weekend from now on. Thanks guys!

They were on time and did a great job. Everyone that visits us is in aw of the palapas. Ours is 12x21 and looks small but once you come under it, feels huge!!!

These guys are over the top! Outstanding design, work and outcome!! The workers are the best, no mess left behind and extremely courteous. I now have the most beautiful view of the sunset every single night for the rest of my life. Thanks Paradise Palapas. Until the next project.....Farewell!!
