Do not waste your time or money on this hotel. No issues with the staff but the rooms are terrible. They smell like a combination of mold and cleaning chemicals. They tried to patch a lot of holes with paint that doesn’t even match. There was black mold at the seam of the wall and the ceiling. Picked my shoe up to pack it and a cockroach scurried off. The price is less than half of the surrounding hotels for a reason.

The service is horrible they don't treat people like they would like to be treated. Somebody stole my clothes and I put a complaint and never heard from management.Safety: The management doesn't care about your safety.

Friendly and professional staff who made us feel welcome and comfortable. Having stayed recently at an alternative extended stay facility which was not very nice or clean inside or outside, despite being in an upscale neighborhood, we were pleased to see the rooms and lobby at Candlewood Inn Suites/Laporte were surprisingly attractive for the price. The coffee bar, essentials store, patio with electric barbecue grills, and a heater tower were welcome amenities. Thank you, Miss Cindy and Miss Diana for all of your assistance.

Nothing impressive here. The weekend front desk clerks were nice, the Monday clerk was not. Exterior doors don't open with the room key. One clerk insisted that they do - I assured her, they don't, I tried. Dog walk station doesn't have bags. Someone likes to smoke weed in the stairwell, it smelled like smoke all three days that I was there. Housekeeping started cleaning the adjacent rooms at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday and repeatedly let the door slam, and then stood outside our door talking. I thought it was kinda gross that they left someone's trash sit in the hallway all weekend, too. On Monday a housekeeper walked right in our room without knocking, at 10 a.m.!! I like that the Candlewood has a little kitchenette stocked with basic supplies, and that the fridge has an icemaker. However, there's no luggage rack or place to put luggage other than the floor! The other inconvenience was that there's an outlet on only one side of the bed. This hotel is probably great for plant workers, but at about $120 per night, I'll book somewhere else next time.

this hotel has ROACHES. i found 1 dead behind the tv in my ROOM. I also found one moving in the hallway. although checking in wasn’t bad but i couldn’t handle it when i found not 1 but 2 roaches. The room we stayed in also had a hole under the air conditioning in the wall. When we first walked in the room too it smelled really bad. Not to mention there was also a spider on the bed crawling. I would not recommend this hotel and to save your money. The only good part about this place is the service wasn’t bad.

I've had bad experiences at other Candlewood Suites. I was skeptical when I booked this room but it was a last minute trip. However, this hotel exceeded my expectations. The room was as clean, the bed we as comfortable and staff was friendly and helpful.

It wasn't my choice to stay here. Company I work for paid for our rooms. Rooms look nice from pictures but however it's not the great place to stay. First tonight's our water was turns off because of maintenance issues. I know being in SE Texas it's humid but it shouldn't be so humid your room feels that same as outside. Bed was damp as if someone sprayed the sheets with water. Room smelt like mildew or like wet moss. Just to top as I was laying in my bed relaxing I felt something crawl across the back of my neck and appear on my pillow next to me, to my surprise it was a cockroach. I was able to switch rooms but to just as my first room the repeat cycle of damp sheets and a humid room. I have no choice but to stay until checkout day cause it's not coming out of my pocket. Next time I am in the area working or doing training I will be staying else where.

A little older than I expected 32" tvs come on super 8 has better. Hole in carpet, paint over holes visible, small tub shower combo. Nice kitchenette, good coffee in room no free amenities in lobby. Very no frills. Not quite Marriott standards.

My husband and I are long-term guests in this hotel and we both have nothing but excellent things to say about it. The rooms are very clean and well kept. Kitchen is well equipped. Front desk staff is very nice, helpful and curteous. Specifically I'd like to point out Charity - Operations manager, who was extremely responsive to all our needs. We couldn't ask for more and no doubt we made a perfect choice! We already made arrangements to come back for another extended stay.

Do not stay here. The first room assigned wreaked of smoke. Staff did not seem surprised when we asked for a different room. Second room had significant damage to the door, as if it was previously pried open. There was mold in the shower, dirty towels folded up in the bathroom and crumbs in the bed. The furniture was old/damaged. Just to name a few issues. This hotel seems to cater to industrial workers from nearby refineries, which is fine except their cleaning practices and maintenance schedule is lacking for the heavy use. We checked out after one night and will never stay here again.

Great value compared to other hotels around, but still has an issue with the outside door by the stairs. Clean with range and pots in room, but no available cutting board which is available at other Candlewood Suites. Rooms need hook in bathroom and on wall outside bathroom to hang items.Food & drinks: Cupboard has staple items for those who don't feel like running to the grocery store, but prices are a little higher than what you would spend at the grocery store. Makes it convenient if you don't want to wait or walk to Kroger

Traveling to spend Thanksgiving with my son has presented challenges before. Staying with a competing brand last year, my wife and I ended up with a disastrous experience that we didn't want to repeat. So, this year we stayed at Candlewood Suites. We should have done the same last year. The staff were extremely friendly and went above and beyond to see that we had what we needed. This was particularly important because my wife and I are both mobility impaired. The room was comfortable and had absolutely everything we needed--not just for Thanksgiving, but for the entire stay. Having a full-size refrigerator was a blessing. The dishwasher ensured that we could continue to re-use the dishes we had in the room. If we didn't have a particular item in the room, there was a good chance they had the item downstairs. Thanksgiving was saved this year because we had what we needed. It was quiet, comfortable, and well-suited for our needs. Thank you Candlewood Suites! We will be back!
