The Lake Jackson Historical Museum is a small two-story museum full of local history with free admission. It presents permanent and rotating exhibits that highlight major eras and influential figures, from the Indigenous Karankawa people to the Dow Chemical Company workers. It is an amazing presentation of local history and functions as an important community space in downtown Lake Jackson. The museum features interactive fun, including at least two animatronic displays with moving and talking figures. Visitors should try their skills on the flight simulators and can see an airplane hanging from the vaulted ceiling that was designed and manufactured by a local dentist. There is also a video of a ghost and a theater video to watch. For kids, there is a scavenger hunt. The staff is very friendly. It is a very cool place with low cost interactive fun, asking only for a donation. On the first Saturday of each month, visitors can go visit the plantation site.
