Pick-up was fine. The computers were down when we returned it. He had to call Penske to get our deposit refunded. Called to see how long it would take.yo get refund. The shocking answer was "5 to 10 days". I our day and time of technology that is unacceptable. I have the money but some people do not. Penske you need to do better by your customers.I went to the FAQ section. They no info on there refund policy on deposits. I have done more research and this is par for the course for Penske. You should look else for truck rental. The Home Depot employee where they are set up hates them. He didn't go into any details though.Just called U-Haul. Their rates are high but as long as you use a credit card, which we did, there is no deposit needed.

These guys are great. Just call in advance and get your rental figured out before you show up and it will go smooth. I rented a 26 ft Box for two days and it was easy and painless to arrange.

I rented a 22' truck and it advertised on the Penske Website when reserving up to 500miles on a tank and that it was a diesel engine. The truck I was given was a V10 gas truck and was TERRIBLE. I even called back to the store telling them how I was not happy with the truck. Once down the road noticed that the "miles to empty" read out was saying 258miles on a full tank a gas. Given that I was driving from Fort Worth, Texas to Anaheim, Ca I was not very happy. Called the penske location back and got one of the guys that was helping me initially with the rental. Told me "oh yea that probably is not right. That that should definitely be comparable to the diesel fleet that average 9.0mpg. That that truck is a 'trial' truck from Penske to see how it does on the road." After being on the highway and doing the speed limit (half full truck) I only averaged 6.8mpg and had to refuel every ~230-250miles. Not very happy considering online I reserved a truck that would be a diesel and get up to 500 miles on a tank according to the official Penske website. Also, not only did the truck get horrible gas mileage. The breaks made a horrible sound almost like a 'ahooga' horn while turning the truck on with my foot on the brakes and slightly after when truck turned on. Personally think the trucks brakes were no up to par. Overall, my experience with the truck and rental was VERY unsatisfying considering the $1700 spent for a rental from 6/6/-6/8.
