Dr. FUESS was consulted to assess and eye infection in my feral cat. She recommended an oral antiviral that cost me $150. If you have a feral cat you can only imagine how difficult it is to give them a pill. After doing some research I found out there isn’t antiviral medication that can be applied to the eyes. I have not been able to administer the oral medication. I am very disappointed in thispractice especially after a $240 bill, and the bacterial eye gel wasn’t even administered while the cat was sedated

Not happy with this veterinary services. I have been taking my pets there for 3 years. Never seen the same vet twice. Got canceled by vet clinic for being late for an appointment. I have waited on a vet to see my pet and have never walked out because vet was late. I will no longer take my babies to this vet again.

Our cat needed a certificate of health and rabies vaccination before a flight to a different state. We booked an appointment for the next day, they checked us in quickly and gave us great service. The price was very reasonable too. Highly recommend.

While we often use the Lakehills Animal Health for our regular pets, (all are rescue animals) we recently experienced a loss of our fur family when one of our adopted ferals - that we had taken a long time to accept humans (except Veterinarians - he hated Veterinarians!). Panther was a special cat who was loved by his human family as well as his fur family, 2 other cats, Mickey and Trolly (both rescued) and Dexter the dog who enjoyed his evening walks with Panther - - each night we would together, with Panther along acting as another dog and chasing Dexter and Dexter chasing him - - it was always good for a laugh. It took a long time to "tame" Panther and I was the only one who would be allowed to pick him up. He liked it but only from me. In early August 2022, Panther wasn't himself, so we booked an appointment for the end of the business day. Panther, who had a checkered past as far as tolerating Veterinarians was purring the entire time at the office. Tests were run and it was discovered that his kidneys had failed. Dr. Fuess, who I have always found to be passionate as well as compassionate was honest and up front that his health could not be salvaged. Together we made him comfortable as he left this world to another. He was purring until the very end. The reason I write this is that often we want the best for our pets - and I believe that this staff does that. Not only in life, but easing our furry friends from life to rest was done caringly and carefully. The entire staff including Dr. Fuess understood the loss and eased the transition for me too. That is the measure of a true animal lover - able to insure your pet doesn't suffer and I was so glad that it was Lakehills Animal Health that helped us - Panther and me - to send him into the light. What a great team.

Just recently moved here from out of state and am so excited to have found Lakehills Animal Health! No doubt in my mind, I could not have left my dog in better hands. Everyone was great! Thank you so much, and on behalf of Rigby too!

I'm in Ohio and my best friend just came there asking for help with a baby mouse she found in her house... the staff there had the audacity to want to CHARGE HER MONEY to put this poor baby down... wow talk about NO EMPATHY your staff needs training in how to be compassionate..it's not only in Texas this happens it's unfortunately everywhere... these vet places need better workers with compassion rather than just working there for money.. the entire veterinarian industry needs to be re trained...shameful how even animal patients are treated as dollar signs just like humans DO BETTER!

If I could give them zero stars they would. On two separate occasions I needed emergency care for my dogs. You need to make an appointment for an emergency. After years with this vet today was the last straw but at the expense of my dogs life!! Literally. Attitudes of the staff is horrible. You are just a dollar sign to them and they have ZERO compassion or knowledge of animals.

SO, we have been using Lakehills Animal Health for about 6 years now. It started off with an actual emergency with one of our 5 dogs and we've been using them exclusively since that time. We checked around with pricing, and they're the lowest. We checked on the Vet's credentials, and she's more than qualified to be a Veterinarian with many years of experience. So, yes, that is a check in the "Qualified" column. At first I was a little curious as to why there is an exam for each and every visit, then I thought a little bit and don't recall going to any other Doctors without them doing the initial vitals and pre-exam to make sure everything is ok with me before actually seeing the Doctor. SO, this just means they are really thorough...which is a good thing. Secondly, I've never gotten any new medicines from my Doctor without scheduling an appointment/ exam.. and anyone that has.... well it's actually stupid for a Doctor to prescribe any new medications for humans or animals without knowing their patient is in good health and can handle the medications that will be possibly prescribed. We are very proactive when it comes to our pets health and don't usually wait until they are barely breathing or have gone past the point of being treated before getting them to the Doctor....which is what some people do and then blame the Doctor for not being a miracle worker...guess what....sometimes it's not the Doctors fault for procrastinating or taking care of your pets when it's convenient. Thirdly, in the last 6 years Dr. Fuess has helped us coordinate with Specialists and that's not the normal deal with most Doctors. Another thing, in the same amount of years I've seen a few different people at the front desk at Lakehills Animal Health and while some were already trained, some were still in training. Guess what.... NONE of US were born knowing everything.... so get off your high horse and come back down to reality! I was in the military for 22 years and never did got a new Soldier that was perfectly trained or proficient when they arrived at my door... So, if you want an excellent Doctor/ Veterinarian, who really cares for animals more than most Vet's I've encountered..... who is reasonably priced and likes to make sure that you have a great life with your pets/extended family...then give them a try. Again, don't wait till the last minute to take care of your pets... .plan ahead and be responsible pet owners. You'll be glad you did and have a great relationship with your pets and Lakehills Animal Health.

Dr. Fuess is absolutely wonderful! She is smart, caring, compassionate and takes amazing care of my three pups. I was a vet tech for 6 years and had the pleasure of working with Dr. Fuess during a few of those years. I've worked with many vets some good ones and some not so good ones. Dr. Fuess is hands down my favorite vet to have worked for not only because of her love of animals but because I know she's going to recommend the absolute best care for my dogs and take care of them as if they were her own. As long as she's practicing veterinary medicine, I will be taking my dogs to her even if I have to drive 45 mins from San Antonio to do so because I know how she practices medicine and know how she continues to stay educated and aware of updated veterinary practices and recommendations. I actually live in North Carolina now but when I come home to visit family, I bring my dogs in for their yearly exam with Dr. Fuess. I've tried to find good veterinary care in Las Vegas, Virginia and North Carolina and I have yet to find anyone that compares to her. Other vets usually charge so much more in veterinary fees and don't give my dogs half the amount of attention and care that I know my dogs get with Dr. Fuess. She is truly a gem.

I absolutely recommend Lakehills Animal Health to ALL my Friends that love their FurBabies~ I have received the best advice from them. In the years we have taken all our pets to Dr. Fuess and Staff-Candy & Missy, their care has been a true blessing.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for always taking such amazing care of my kiddos. My dogs are my babies and I never worry about their care when they come to see you. I trust in you 100% and know that you care about my dogs as if they were your own. Keep doing what you're doing and helping my pups out despite the craziness that we're dealing with in the world at this time. So glad you guys are continuing to practice safe and good medicine at this time. I would be lost without you!
