Poor customer service

My sister-in-law banks here and has for years (it's actually called PNC Bank now). Today we went in to get a form notarized for me to gift her my old car. The manager asked if the form we needed notarized was "bank business". When we said no, he said they couldn't do it. Not even if we paid, because they have a "policy" of not charging for notary service. I told him it was a stupid policy and that it would take them 5 minutes to help a long-time customer. He would not budge and we had to go somewhere else and wait in line and pay $20. What ever happened to customer service?????

I hope this may help someone else with my situation. I am currently a student employee at the university, first of, I can only get a job on campus because I am an international student. Finding a bank was really hard because many banks won't accept me or will put really high expectations (like keeping a minimum of 500dllrs in their account). BBVA seemed to be my best bet. After almost 3 years, I can say overall my experience has been bad. First, because they will try to put my homecountry's address as the billing address, which they put in wrong. This prevented me sometimes from ordering online. Once my mobile bank got blocked and the only way for them to help me through the phone was by giving them by social security, turns out I do not really have one or at least I wasn't sure of what they put in my account regarding that. So, they couldn't help me and had to go in person. By now, the bank had transitioned to PNC. With hope, i tried to change my billing address, phone number, etc. But yet, again they probably made a mistake and the problem was never solved. Their customer service never made me feel welcomed. Today, once again my order online, which was very important, got cancelled and I can't just finish to understand why no one can help me with updating a billing address in my account. Why is this so hard.

Made an appointment to get added to my Father’s account, spent 20 minutes while “Leroy” tried to figure out how to do this basic task. I was assured I could then check my Dad’s account online. After trying to access the account online, I was told by the branch that I needed to call the 1800 number, who then told me that the branch had failed to set up online banking. When I called the branch again, I was told “Leroy” was “out to lunch”. This whole branch is out to lunch. They failed, blamed me and then lied about it. Just horrible.

The tellers at the motor bank seem to have rules about cashing checks that are different from other BBVA locations. Even with proper ID and no problems with the account, they still resist completing the transaction, create problems and great inconveniences to the customers (that they boast are their priority). By far the worst banking experience and service. The branch manager at this location also is of no help at all and is not considerate of complaints brought to her attention.

3 tellers available, 2 with “next teller†sign posted, no line and the available teller is too busy; no bueno! Too busy to take care of their customers. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. Service needs improvement.

I'm like the typical person that enjoys to swipe a debit or credit card at any ATM machine but today was different. I had to go personally into a Compass branch and I was dreading it because it's a Saturday and before a holiday. I was thinking the worst scenario and imagined the long lines with only 1 teller and 1 loan officer. I'm happy to say that there were 2 tellers available and the line only had 1 person ahead of us. We got to take our time and ask questions on some charges and our teller was very curteous and greeted us with a smile. She patiently answered our questions and printed out some missing statements etc., was very professional and attentive. I did not expect this treatment on a weekend, before a holiday and in Laredo!! I highly recommend this branch if you bank with Compass. It was a pleasant experience!
