Despite being a small facility they had such a great selection of sweet and loving animals. My favorite of all being Curtis! If you’re looking for an incredibly affectionate and loyal dog that would defend you with his life this is your man. I went to see the cats and decided to stop and love on some puppies. Curtis caught my eye with his tough looking demeanor but kind soul. I’ve never been one for “scary” looking dogs but he’s so wonderful! He knows tricks, he likes being petted on his butt, plays games. All around incredible dog. I’d take him home myself if my boy wouldn’t hate me for it haha. I believe Curtis is a Border Collie Pit mix. He has the agility and intelligence of a border collie and the strength (and affection) of a pit. I will certainly be back as I am looking for a cat and they have some fantastic ones. But I wanted to shout out Curtis for being so cool!

I am so grateful for this organization!
We are a family of four and we were looking for a new furry family member. I went in to inquire about their dogs and had to go through the application process to adopt. Several days later they contacted me that our application was accepted and then our girl came home with us!
When I left SPCA, the manager had set me up for success with our new dog. I have a slow feeder so she could gain weight properly, a whole bag of high quality food, her next medication for flea/tick/heart worms, her medical records, and what to do if I had questions. This is awesome and I'm glad a resource like this is in our community.
Further shout out to the manager -- when I was there, she was handling an elderly lady who was talking to everyone in the lobby, two ladies inquiring about adoption, a man bringing in a small puppy and redirecting him to the proper shelter, and then me and my son. She did this all with a SMILE on her face and with grace. She may not know it, but she is excellent with people and I commend her on her patience.
Overall, I had the best experience. For anyone looking to foster or adopt, I would call first to chat about their specific shelter before going in. I learned that they do have some parameters they must follow when allowing animals in AND allowing them out.
Oh!! And they are building a new building to help make space for more pups and kitties! Thanks SPCA! 10/10 Highly recommend.

They don’t disclose all information about an animal and each staff member has a different answer to same question you ask, not reliable

This is a great place for dogs and cats. Its a place worth donating to also. These people care and dont need to prove it to show it.

I adopted a little dog named Prince a week ago from Central Texas SPCA. Prince is absolutely lovely! When I first visited Central Texas SPCA, I was very impressed by how well the animals were taken care of. The environment was very peaceful and looked like a little park. All of the dogs there seemed happy, healthy and had lots of space to play around. The Staff there are awesome. Attached is a photo of Prince-my new family member. - Mian

Went with a friend to see the kittens she's adopting. Such sweeties, though they are kittens, so what do you expect. Lol

We adopted a second dog from this shelter, the first still with us over 11 years. The people are very kind and caring of the animals and we always have good experiences there. I would recommend them if you are looking for a new pet to join your family.

We are in the process of adopting a new cat. I have been to several other rescues and this location twice. The staff have been very helpful/friendly. We're really hoping Lavender will become a permanent part of our family, but if not we will continue our search with Central Texas SPCA.

All staff were so friendly & provided necessary info to help guide you in choosing your perfect pet. I do recommend finding an alternative for handicap as the site isn't designed to accommodate currently.

I fostered then adopted a cat from here. The animals looked very healthy and well cared for. They were very accommodating with my schedule, and the staff who worked the front desks were incredibly nice, patient, and wonderful to work with! Adoption fees were very low/reasonable.
