I am a beginner of jiu jitsu and have been attending Miguel’s classes for a little over two months now and I’m hooked. Originally, I had 3 or 4 jiu jitsu trial sessions set up at other gyms like John’s gym etc but after starting here for the first free week, I didn’t even bother to check out the other gyms. The people here truly want you to get better and make all the newcomers feel extremely welcome. It’s awesome seeing colored belts at my classes because when you roll with them they try to help you and instruct you on what you’re doing wrong instead of just submitting you for the hell of it. Miguel is very patient, keeps the classes fun and teaches in a way that beginners can grasp. The rolling is hard work, but it’s been so crucial in my “slight” growth the past couple months. There’s truly a great team here at this gym and I’m looking forward to many more years here. If you’re thinking about joining, come try it out!

Cannot recommend this place enough. The community is basically my second family, and the gym is just great. People work with you not against you and everyone cares about each other. If you're looking for a fantastic gym to train at I would definitely recommend going here.

Excellent value. Comfortable setting for beginners big and small. In a year of training 2-4 times a week, I could not imagine a more welcoming and productive environment. Three sessions a day available for adults, kid classes every day, Gi and No-Gi week to week, lots of upper belt and white belts available. Jiu Jitsu is hard, but Cornerstone is a great place to find out.

I 'started my Jiu Jitsu journey at Cornerstone a few months ago and I love it here! I came with zero prior knowledge or applicable skill sets but that didn't matter. As many other have correctly said, there are NO egos here and from day one I've been treated like I belong, like I've been coming my whole life. I can tell you from experience that Miguel and the other teachers are patient, persistent, and they will help you learn and grow... and smash of course. Highly recommended I will never train at another gym!

Love this place, been attending for 3+ years. Great place for beginners, great member dynamics in the gym. Miguel is an excellent instructor. He has a group of upper belts that serve as instructors as well who are legit and friendly. Get off your butt and on the mats! ?

I dropped in one of the afternoon classes, coach did a great job showing the technique and demonstrating why it works. I enjoyed it, but what I didn't enjoy was rolling.I rolled with one of the members that joined the gym, the inside of my knee popped. After I told the guy to go slow and be careful, he proceeded to armbar me and cranked it so hard the inside of my elbow popped. I did not roll with him again afterwards.I had discussed it with the coach there afterwards, yes he informed me that the people in the gym roll hard, but I did say rolling hard like that isn't going to help anyone.Being a beginner myself I understand what it's like when someone does this during training. It's very demoralizing for newcomers that want to learn the gentle art of jiu-jitsu.This is my experience and maybe that I got unlucky. I have nothing against the instructor or many of the people that train there. I've made it clear to them. However, I can't trust that the safety will be guaranteed for beginners. Sorry.

I was in town for a couple days and attended the Friday morning and Saturday morning classes. Even though I was new to the gym everyone treated me as though I was a lifetime member there. The instruction was fantastic as well. Of all the gyms I've visited this is definitely one of my favorites!
