I was a bit hesitant after reading some negative reviews, but my visit to the San Antonio Aquarium turned out to be a delightful experience. The variety of marine life was impressive, and the addition of lemurs, a goat, alpaca, and even kangaroos made it an engaging and unique attraction. What stood out was the opportunity to interact with and touch the animals--a feature not often found in aquariums. The chance to feed the animals was a highlight for both adults and teens, adding an extra layer of fun to the visit. The aquarium also has a token system apart the tickets for aquarium. Each token costs about $3, and most attractions required only 1 token, making it accessible and budget-friendly. Some attractions did cost 4 tokens, while a few special experiences required 20 tokens. This system added an element of choice to the visit, allowing visitors to customize their interactive experiences based on their interests.Beyond the aquatic wonders, the aquarium surprised me with its additional activities, including an arcade. It felt like a kid-friendly environment, yet still catered to the interests of adults and teenagers. As a tourist exploring San Antonio, I found the San Antonio Aquarium to be a great place to spend some enjoyable and interactive time. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a mix of marine life and hands-on experiences!

I absolutely love this place! Definitely recommend to any families, especially with any young ones who love animals. They have great interactive experiences such as feeding and petting animals. They have a game room and multiple concession stands for snacks. They also have a gift shop for memorabilia and a bounce house if the kids still have plenty of energy, it includes tables and chairs for parents to sit back and relax while the children play. I love it here, stayed for hours until baby got sleepy. Definitely earned 5 stars.

Total waste of time and money. But Since we had the pogo pass , it was checked off the list. To view any information you have to scan a QR code and need tik tok. Which not everyone has. Everything requires a token or several to feed or touch etc. The offerings are small and I mean tiny. The floors were being actively mopped as people and kids were walking . They put up signs but definitely need a dry swifter type after the mopping . There's a small bounce house inside . And a tiny arcade. We didn't waste any money on those. About 20ish minutes we walked, saw and were done. Off to Austin because San Antonio has to be the worst ever. From any state .

Visited San A for the weekend, saw a lot of hype around the aquarium. It wasn’t what I was expecting, but it was unique. I was shocked at how much they actually had in here. Came in when they first opened on a Sunday and there quickly was a line. The explanation of exhibits available were all in Spanish lol. We went into the lemur exhibit. I saw pictures of people holding them which I was excited for. But when you get there, you can touch them with only 2 fingers. Dont use the photo booth, the pictures do not come out well at all. There was a lady right outside the exit trapping people to sign up to win a trip which was off putting.. but overall was a cool experience. I feel bad for the larger creatures being in such small spaces.

Don't go here expecting a top notch aquarium itself. Though it isn't a big place, this is a different experience, not like most other aquariums we've been to. There is a variety of animals and more interactive experiences! You can go into a good amount of the areas and interact with the animals and purchase tokens to feed them. They also have additional play time activities and games to entertain kids - like bounce houses and an arcade, which we didn't do. But if you are looking for something different and to take up time, there's plenty here.

I always enjoying the hands on experience they have to offer unlike most aquariums. The stingrays are friendly and staff is very kind. My favorite thing to do is pet the chickens and llama. Great place for family and friends!

Amazing 4 hours with my nephews and my mom. We went thru it 3 times . My nephews 4 and 2. We packed snacks and drinks in the car and took a break after going thru it the first time which took about an hour. Each time we went thru my nephews got braver and braver. I definitely got my money worth. They had an amazing time, we all did.

The San Antonio Aquarium is more of a petting zoo than it is an aquarium. We did have a lot of fun as the petting zoo area provides close encounters with Lemurs, kangaroo, penguins, and a sloth. Our 12 year old daughter loved the experience. They gave a large indoor area and a small outdoor area. We spent almost 3 hours at the aquarium. Highly recommend for children up to 13 years old.

Went with grandkids and great gkids today! A wonderful interactive experience! Lots of opportunities to pet and feed the wildlife; employees walking around with animals so that patrons can get up close with them! The employees were extremely friendly and amazingly knowledgeable, willing to tell you about the species and answer any questions! The octopus was being very social today, allowing patrons to touch and suction their fingers. Several employees asked if we had seen the octopus yet and were excited to share how fun the octopus was being today! Highly recommend for all ages!

Looking for something fun to do in San Antonio and thought the aquarium would be a fun option! We had never been before and let me just say it was SO fun and interesting. They have all kinds of interactive exhibits like sting rays and the amazing octopus! We met wonderful staff like Edwardo who you could tell took so much pride in the animals and absolutely loves what he does and Evette and Dax in the kangaroo and capybara exhibit who could tell you all about the animals! They all were so wonderful and made our first time so memorable! We will definitely be back!

This is an amazingly wonderful place for kids. Not really an adult aquarium. Pros: Almost all of the exhibits were interactive. You could touch most of the fish and feed many of the animals. The lemurs were absolutely adorable, and many employees were carrying a lemur around. They had the biggest and fattest koi I have ever seen! There were balloon animals and face painting, and a mermaid was there to take pictures with. This aquarium had play areas and an arcade. Cons: most exhibits didn't have information placards about the animals inside. In fact, the placards that I saw were almost always of an animal that wasn't in the exhibit! The many touch tanks (almost the whole aquarium) were not supervised, so there was no hand washing prior to or after touching the fish. I couldn't help but feel sorry for the penguins because it was so warm. The aquarium was interesting and fun, but not really educational. There's a great deal of promise here, but at this time, it's only half fulfilled.

Griselda was one of the first workers to help us with the feeding for the animals and was super helpful and beyond friendly!!! She told us all about the memberships and the a bit about the animals, we will definitely return as members because of her!!! Had such an amazing time here with all the other super friendly staff!!! We also found an iguana egg while enjoying the day, sat with a lemur, soaked my feet with koi fish, and met a sweet bird lady named Maddie in the outside enclosure❤

The San Antonio Aquarium is one of the top three places to visit. 10/10 for family and children. 9/10 for dates. The friendly, brilliant, beautiful staff are a radiating example of the best of souls humanity has to offer. The price of a year's membership is so inexpensive; it's hard to believe for all that it offers. Animal encounters, an arcade, and even bounce houses! Please try their pizza!

This was our second time visiting. Me and my boys LOVE it!! Yes some of the tanks look a little dirty and some areas might smell funny but the way this aquarium lets you touch and interact with almost every animal here way outweighs the negative complaints!! My toddler and 7 year old love being able to touch and interact with everything without getting in trouble or told not to touch. They were entertained the whole time and fell asleep right after from all the excitement. 10/10 great experience. We will be back a 3rd time!

We've been to plenty of aquariums in the past few years but this is a strange, strange place. My kids and I had fun, mostly in the sting ray exhibit but upon reflection the habitats for many animals seemed quite small. Some were better than others but the penguins, boas and octopus definitely need bigger tanks. While there is a moderate collection of animals I do not feel like the price was commiserate with the quality of the exhibit which statistically is more of a lemur/stingray petting zoo than anything else. The employees were personable but it didn't seem that anyone particularly loved working there, especially in the arcade or bounce house areas (what those are doing in an aquarium is beyond me). I got the distinct feeling that these were not professionals but folks that just needed a job. Also, DO NOT opt to feed the parakeets. They will swarm you and you will be pooped on.
