Came in to pick up a to go order. The lady in the front kept saying I didn't have an order. So I left out to double check my order on my email before I pulled off and it was this location. Went back inside and my order was coming out the back. Got home was to happy with the expensive steaks I bought. Most of them was fat. I used to come here a lot and was more happy with the service and food. Now I see why I hadn't been in such a long time.

Me and my family thought the food was great, we got steaks and the fried catfish which was excellent. Logan did an excellent job with service and we would recommend this restaurant to our friends!

The food was very good. Good service. The only thing is that it is missing all the cool stuff that the one at Crossroads has.

Great place, great drinks, great food!!! This restaurant is a must if you’re ever in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, just off the I-35E, right there on Main Street Lewisville. Located in a beautiful and upcoming area, there is indoor and outdoor seating, with a really nice Texas feel to it. I enjoyed the menu selection from burgers to steaks, and the variety of drinks to choose from. There is something for everyone from young to the young at heart. Definitely try the fried pickles while you’re there.

Texas,, what a State,, there, everything is big and special, that is what people says,, and is true. This amazing and unique restaurant is a place where every traveler should stop.. Is like traveling back in time,, was build 150 year ago,, use to be a animal feed mill, all the machinery and equipment, still there,, imagine..The food is unique. I had the second best stake of my entire life,, and a said the second, because the first one was also in Texas, in San Antonio beautiful city in the same state, years ago,, unforgettable..Again if you are passing trough Dallas,, take a break a visit this unique location,, you would remember it,,

This place was wonderful! The food, service, and atmosphere were all top notch! We came on a night there was live music and really enjoyed it. We tried a little of everything and it was all really tasty and fresh. I don't think a lot of people know about this place, but it's a gem!

This was my first visit to Prarie House. When I walked in I was impressed by the ambiance of this historic mill building, beautifully restored. There was no greeter or host at the front so I just stood and waited about 5 mins, while looking around for staff. When the hostess did arrive she seemed annoyed, no warmth. I asked if we could sit on the patio but they had no server out there, so we got a nice booth inside. Unfortunately neither my friend nor I enjoyed our food here. She ordered ribs which were covered with gooey, overly sweet bbq sauce which she had to scrape off. I ordered sirloin steak with green beans and skewer vegetables. The green beans were SO incredibly salty they were inedible. I ordered my steak medium but it arrived well-done and dry, so I sent it back. My second steak, which arrived medium rare, tasted odd; had a strange, unpleasant aftertaste to it. I could only eat less than half of it because of the taste. 10 minutes later my stomach began to hurt and cramp. This was very surprising to me... so I felt compelled to tell our waiter, Will, who was kind. It wasn't his fault and he was over-extended also working as bar tender. I wondered aloud how the steak was handled because I was feeling very uncomfortable. I looked around for a manager but none were to be seen. In fact, the restaurant was almost empty this Saturday afternoon around 3. Luckily, I had activated charcoal capsules to take with club soda which helped my stomach momentarily. No one came by to speak with me about the food issue which I thought was poor business ettiquette. A few hours later at home I felt sick, red hot face, queasy. Alarmed, I called the restaurant and spoke with asst. manager Fallon. I asked her to investigate how my steak was handled because that was what bothered me the most and seemed so 'off'. I was contemplating going to the emergency room. She repeatedly assured me that everything was done properly on her end; steaks fresh, cut this morning, they are dipped in worcestershire sauce (which I am not allergic to). I told her, "I've had a very unpleasant experience" and asked her to please refund my meal (which I ate less than half) as a customer satisfaction gesture. She said she had no authority, but in order to do that I'd have to provide them a doctor's note with proof of food poisoning for their approval, and then it could be escalated to her manager who would have the final say as to whether I get a refund. I decided that $200 of out-of-pocket nighttime medical testing (which might gain no immediate results) wasn't worth a $16.00 meal, so just stuck it out with pepto bismol and more activated charcoal at home for a bad night with little sleep-- and uncomfortable next day. For compensation, Fallon had offered me a credit at the restaurant if I bought another meal there. I said, "I don't think I want to risk that!"I will never set foot in this restaurant again unless it's just to drink club soda!

Everything my wife and I ordered was excellent! It has been a while since I've been to a restaurant and was thoroughly impressed with the food and they pulled it off. Go and enjoy this place today!
