If I could rate this place a 0 I WOULD. This place is horrible, the staff are liars and the front lady has a very ugly ugly ugly attitude. This place should be called an animal death camp due to how many pets they kill here. On another note, lots of their pets are very sick for some reason, they claim are they are perfectly fine but they aren’t! This place is horrible, the manger herself is very rude. This place is HORRIBLE. Watch out if you adopt here or surrounded here. Please just adopt somewhere else!

Rescued the perfect dog for my family from here. They were incredibly nice throughout the process, had my adoption fee waived, and gave us a high quality harness, 2 leashes, dog food, treats, some toys and other goodies absolutely free. She was already spayed, dewormed, has all her vaccinations up to date and microchipped. Dogs are family members, which are priceless, and she joined our family literally for free. Thank you guys!

Very helpful and kind staff. Rescued my girlfriend's two aging cats from her car after she had a car wreck on I35E/Lewisville. She was taken by ambulance to hospital unconscious but Lewisville Animal Control transported the cats (which were in carriers) to the Animal Services facility. When I arrived after checking on her, the ladies had vaccinated the cats and given dewormer and flea treatment. They brought them out to my vehicle (I have to walk with a cane, only one handed) and they were just FINE. After getting them home they settled down nicely. Those folks (Animal Control as well as Lewisville Police and EMT'S) may well have saved my lady's life and those of our family pets. Thanks to ALL involved! BTW, the facility was super clean and organized; I was only there for minutes and they had our two cats ready to ride home. Outstanding!!!

Very impressed with this organization. Called about an animal in distress and they followed up with owner and took corrective action. I know having a pet is like having a child and has its challenges. These folks care and are so helpful. Their compassion and attention to customer service is appreciated!

Came out to my house on an anonymous complaint for barking. They have no proof or verification of barking and now they are demanding loads of information. This is completely unconstitutional.

Updated review: First of all, I did not visited the shelter on Saturday whatsoever, so you did not informed me on the adoption procedures, therefore your response is inaccurate. Second of all, I don’t want things to work on my favor, I just expressed how other shelters don’t allow you to adopt without actually showing up in person, just like you guys do. If receiving feedback hurts you guys, I’m sorry, someone has to do it.Original review: They don’t manage this shelter up to the standards.

thank you so much Lewisville Animal Shelter for uniting me with my sweet baby Katya (formerly Katydid)! They were super kind and helpful, the facility was very clean, and everyone there seemed to really love the animals and want them to go to good homes! I am so happy with my good girl, I adopted her back in September and she fits right in in our home!

I've adopted 2 cats from here before. the first cat i got was healthy and had nothing wrong with her, she ate perfectly fine the same day we brought her home and played just fine. the second cat on the other hand was sick. when we brought him home he refused to eat and was super super skinny and would just sit in the corner by himself. when we took him to the vet they said he was very sick. so then we had called back the shelter to ask what could be wrong to see if they would lie about it and all they said was he’s adjusting. they obviously have to take their animals to vets before they can rehome them so id imagine they would’ve known something was wrong but still continued to lie. i honestly don’t recommend adopting from here unless you want to help these animals.

We were advised to be the first ones to pick up the dog we were interested in, we went ahead and started with the paperwork online and put an alternative number to reach out to my spouse if primary didnt answer. They called 2 mins before they closed and left a voicemail. We were not instructed to leave THEM a voicemail if we were still interested. So we showed up first thing NEXT morning only to be told someone had an appointment in 7 hours to see IF the dog would be picked up. I was told there was miscommunication! Absolutely not! Someone provided us incorrect information, someone else didn’t do their job and someone else tried to gaslight! Unbelievable! Isn’t this place supposed to find good homes for pets?! This place doesn’t have enough money to give the animals decent food! You don't even have enough money to keep the place afloat that the large dogs are being given away for free! Multiple people dropped the ball someone needs to take responsibility.

I went to Lewisville Animal Services to choose a small dog listed on the website but didn't think, for some reason, that the one I had gone to see was for me, but the employees were so nice. They let the other small dogs out into the play yard and I watched for a few minutes before I soon found my special one!The women were so nice and helpful and I love my Shiloh!!

Very clean facility, all the staff are very kind and informative about every animal on site. You can tell they all really respect and love animals. Adopted this sweet boy today and he’s already so cuddly with everyone in the house. Thank y’all for the help.

Amazing. This place is so clean, the pets are so great, and the staff is so friendly and helpful. I have recently adopted two precious young cats, and they are so sweet and gentle, litter trained, and well mannered. I would recommend this center for anyone looking for a new furry family member!
