My dad bought a cypress wood lamp from a roadside vendor in Louisiana in 1948. I remember this lamp being in my childhood home. When my parents passed away, the lamp was shipped from Texas to Michigan to one of my brothers. When my brother in Michigan passed, my sister in law said she was sending it back to me in Texas. That was four years ago. She finally got around to sending it to me. It was packed and shipped by UPS. When it arrived I was very excited to have it, but very heartbroken when I saw that it had been damaged. I contacted my Ray Staebel via Yelp, and we made an appointment for me to come to his shop. We had a great chat about the lamp and some of our life's history while we worked on the lamp together to make the repair. I am very grateful for Mr. Staebel.

Ray has completely transformed many pieces of my family heirloom furniture. He magically removed decades of neglect and water/mold damage, and the furniture is simply gorgeous now. So many compliments. Ray was also able to completely rebuild the entire corner of a coffee table that my puppy chewed off. I am very glad to have met Ray - he's responsive, reasonable, honest, and trustworthy. He also happens to be very nice! I continue to recommend him to friends and family, and I intend to procure his services for years to come.

We had two antique beds refinished and Ray was able to repair one of them. A large portion of one of the headboards had been broken off and repaired poorly in the past. It looks perfect now! The stain is beautiful and these beauties have been lovingly restored to their former glory. Ray is the best!!

Mr. Staebel is well known for being a meticulous refinisher of turn of the century American antiques. He has quite a large inventory of items from kitchen tables, bedroom furniture, hall-trees and specialty items that you just don't see everyday. Call ahead though! They also can be found twice a year in Warrenton.
