This place is in absolute SHAMBLEs and they should be ashamed of the $60 price tag. No food or drinks at all. Maybe a bag of chips. A large majority of the holes are completely closed, under water, totally dirt, you name it. You're skipping holes left and right just to play 9. Place is a DUMP, which is really sad because it could be awesome if someone took care of it.

Sold half the holes to home owners and it’s all backed up because holes play as two. Then they still have to audacity to charge full price for half a course

Was skeptical after reading the reviews but had a lot of fun overall. Lady in the pro shop was friendly and helpful. Only downside was the 9th hole was difficult to find and there were several gopher holes throughout the course which was giving caddy shack vibes. Would play this course again given the price and overall experience.

This was the nicest I've seen this course in years. Just need to blow the dang leaves off the fairway and get some new carts.

The golf course and lodge are falling to shambles. I have noticed lots of the lots being sold off, and the lodge was for sale. Is the golf course being parted out and sold or is it going to repaired and stay open? Was the lodge sold? What is the planned future of Garden Valley?

This is a sad review to write. Part of a group that has been going to GV for over 13 years to play golf for a couple days and fantasy football draft. The condition of the course and clubhouse has fallen so steeply that we will no longer be hosting our yearly event there.-Terrible Tee boxes-Terrible Greens.......weed covered-Totally dead grass fairways-excessive watering in spots not needed or dying-Clubhouse no AC-Clubhouse no bar or grill anymore-Pool close because 'with the heat, we can't figure out the chemicals?!?!!?"-Multiple carts dying every round-No driving range (plotted for housing)-$70 green fees!!!!!!!!One note........ Aimee who works at the clubhouse is awesome and does her best to make it a fun experience. Huge Kudos to her for continuing to work her tail off.I wouldn't go back here if someone paid my round and lodging. Its over. I would give less than 1 star if possible.

No air conditioning in clubhouse for over a year a a half! The golf course has been up for sale since April (2023) for 1.9 million. For some reason this place stinks to high heaven!

Run down course and clubhouse. Clubhouse A/C has not worked in 2 years. Driving range was shut down to build new homes.

After coming here for our annual golf trip for 21 years straight , sadly we won't be back. There was a time when a person could get a nice breakfast before golf here. Now you are lucky to get anything from the restaurant area before a morning round. They have removed the driving range to sell lots for houses. The fairways are full of weeds. The greens are in bad shape. No grass on tee boxes. A beverage person on the course almost never happens, on the weekends even. This place was once called the Augusta of Texas. Seems the free golf for life was a bad idea. What a shame, this course was one of the best.

Garden valley has always been a favorite of mine and friends to play locally! Over the past few years I've watched the course decline. Fairways hardly have grass in them, greens are full of weeds, there are numerous spots on the course that are just mud holes. They seem more concerned w selling lots and adding cabins than taking care of the course itself. They've altered holes and taken out the driving range just to sell lots. The carts are in poor condition as well... All while raising their rates again. I unfortunately cannot see myself paying for what has become a very subpar condition course anymore. Sad because it used to be one if the finest around!

Really enjoyed our stay. We played behind a group with several players and thought it might be a slow round. We were wrong, the pace of play was great. We will definitely be back.

Great start to a facility! For now it's just 18 for killing time. Nothing to be excited about. The future is bright for this place though

The pictures and video should speak for themselves. This place is extremely rundown and very overpriced considering the conditions. At $53 a round on a weekday, it should be better. Sad, because it used to be great and the layout is actually pretty good.

Good layout, but in poor condition. Front nine was especially rough, but condition seemed to get better on the back nine. So much potential here if they would invest more in improvements and maintenance. It’s a good layout that has just been neglected. Really liked the back nine. The greens and fairways were pretty rough throughout. Needs some major weed control in the fairways. Played it for the first time last week. People were nice, but the facilities were tired and neglected and appear to need an infusion of revenue/investment. Would love to go back, when things improve.
