Went to the store after dark. Walked in and waited for like 10 mins trying to find somebody to check me out. Lo and behold the guy was asleep on the floor. I could've stole and just walked out. Instead I had to wake him up to get checked out.

ONE BITE TACO CHALLENGE One bite review with only what they normally provide meaning I add nothing but the ingredients and sauces they provide... First the barbacoa meat was really flavorful and tender, onions and cilantro fresh and tasty (need more cilantro in with the onions )and grilled onions yea they provide two types of onions raw and cooked. The sauce that was provided was Definitely a 9 out of 10. Secon the Trompo same set up as above raw onions mixed with cilantro and grilled onions and lemons. Meat was not as tender as the barbacoa and some pieces a little one the tuff side. Although the flavor was still on point. Definitely a 7.5 out of 10. Lots of lemons in the container would loved to had a couple less and maybe a wedge of lime. And possibly some tomatillo sauce would set the taco off. If you have any suggestions on taco plates please message me but not in comments on the review to be respectful of the business.

Anybody else upset this place hiked prices by like 40% or so? I mean I used to love 2 grab a family pack, which was 3 lbs trompo meat, lots of tortillas, onion/cilantro, sautéed onions/serranos, limes and hot sauce for $30-35 a few months ago. Well, that will now be close to $60. I understand inflation has been terrible lately, and the deal before hand was an incredible deal, but to go up that much at once, that seems crazy to me. It would at least be appreciated to get a discount if you're buying 3 lbs of meat. My total for 2 lbs with taco fixings was $38.95, which again, this place is in a gas station and I think has lost its value to me now. If they bring back the family special or a discount for 3 lbs i will be back. The trompo taco meat is great don't get me wrong (rice and beans were meh when i had them long ago) but the price isn't worth it anymore.

Very expensive for what you get. Come on you're out of a gas station! You're not a 5 star restaurant. You got an order at the gas station. I waited for the attendants to show up. Then I had to wait for my food. Deftly not worth it!

Was 5 stars but unfortunately they changed the menu. The family meal is gone. I got 2 lbs of trompo with fixings for $35 today plus tax. Inflation I guess.

So I want to be clear: I can usually give the taco stand a five, as the women there do their thing and are always excellent. I went in there today and the men they had working couldn't get my chilli cheese fries correct. Cheese wasn't melted, there was hardly any cheese OR chilli on the fries, and no one wants dry fries. This was after I paid for two large orders, and received two small orders (grill man double checked the receipt and confirmed it). They managed to leave out the sauce for the tacos, too. Next time I walk into that store, if the women aren't on the grill, I'm walking out. I was definitely disappointed today.

Order was completely wrong. This is the 2nd time this has happened. Food is good when they get it right. Ordered steak quesadilla and got what looks like a fat burrito. My order is never wrong when the women are working but the MEN ?. When you call listed number for Chevron no one ever answers.

I only come here for the tacos. I mainly order the trompo and carnitas tacos. There can be some variance in the quality but they seem to range from good to excellent. Not sure you can ask for more from has station food. When they are on their game the meat has nice crispy edges yet still retain their juciness. On occasion the meat have been on the wrong side of too fatty and tough. The cilantro and onion mix gives the tacos a nice texture. The green salsa is great and the red salsa has a kick. The grilled onions can vary from just softened to having nicely browned edges. The grilled Serrano peppers they give are hot. Overall the variance doesn't bother me enough to stop me from coming back almost weekly. I recommend giving them at least two tries, if your first experience is a let down.

Trompo King is RIGHT. Like this place should have the swagger of Mick Jagger wearing Notorious B.I.G.'s crown that just sold for almost $600k at auction, because ladies and gentlemen, THE KING IS IN THE BUILDING! Just when you thought all you could get at a gas station was gas, beer, beef jerky, and hepatitis, the Chevron on Eldorado Pkwy gives you some of the best authentic tacos you can find in DFW. That's right, it's a gas station y'all! You literally walk up to the checkout and tell them how many tacos you want, and pay them, then take the receipt to the grill's counter, and specify what kind of tacos you want. Special shoutout to the hardworking young woman that takes the orders for not forcing us gringos to embarrass ourselves by attempting to order in Español. So.... get this.... tacos are only $1.69. Like check your ash tray or cup holder type prices. And they don't skimp on meat. These aren't 3-biter forgetters, they actually have some heft to them. I strongly recommend at least half your order be with the trompo meat, because that is their kingdom and they rule it well. The fajita beef is quite tasty as well, and the carnitas, well, those huge chunks of roasted then fried pork are as good as I have found. All tacos are serves with chopped cilantro and onion, as well as caramelized onions and a grilled Serrano. Ask for both the green and orange salsas. Ok - as you see, all I have mentioned is tacos, because that is all I really need in life to be happy, but y'all, they have so much more on the menu, so eat your weight in tacos, or anything else on the menu, because trust me, you are going to enjoy it.
