About Lockhart Animal Shelter
Lockhart Animal Shelter is dedicated to providing care for animals in need, housing around 56 dogs and 24 cats daily, with approximately 180 animals passing through each month. The shelter serves the City of Lockhart and Caldwell County, relying on funding from local budgets and donations. Many visitors have noted the compassionate and caring nature of the staff, who go out of their way to help both animals and their owners. Instances of finding lost pets have resulted in quick and supportive responses from the team. Although the shelter faces challenges with the number of stray and abandoned animals, they maintain a calm environment for the animals in their care. The shelter encourages the community to spay and neuter pets to help reduce the population of strays. Overall, Lockhart Animal Shelter is a vital resource for the community, providing a safe haven for animals and offering hope for their future.

They work very hard to find homes for the animals, even using animal transports to get dogs new homes.

The people at Lockhart animal shelter are some of the kindest caring individuals I’ve ever met. They provide love and affection to all the shelter animals in hopes that they’ll be ready to receive forever family love.
Consider adopting a shelter animal rather than purchasing a designer pet.

Clean, no smells. There are lots of dogs outside. Some were so isolated not because of behavior but also for the layout of cages.
