Mark did an amazing job fixing my favorite pair of boots. I wore them so often that they needed the soles replaced and while I was looking for someone in my area to fix them, my dog got a hold of them and actually chewed right through the welt. I ended up finding Old School Leathersmith and even though they were 40 miles away, I decided to give them a shot. And I'm glad I did. The boots came out great. Both Mark and Jan are wonderful people. They're the epitome of a "mom and pop" small business. I actually stayed there for an hour just chatting with them when I dropped off my boots. They're a Veteran owned small business and I will be recommending them to all of my friends and family.

I needed a purse repaired. It was just a button that my purse needed. Needless too say the lady and the man said it would be no more than $20.00. When, I went to pick it. They told me it would be a total of $30.00 plus tax. Plus a $3.00 card fee. If you ever need leather repairs and you to this place. Make sure you get something in writing of your total. Plus they were really rude!!!!!!!!

I had the pleasure of getting to work with Mark and Jan when I lived in Texas to create my holsters and belt. They did an outstanding job, and made something special I will be able to pass down through my family. I drove two hours there and back every time, and it was worth every minute. One of the few businesses left that have genuine caring people, and make you feel like family. I’m sure as I grow older in my years I will forget most things, but not Old School Leather Smith!

We just happened to stumble in while looking around Lockhart and we have went back several times now. Mark and Jan are 2 of the most amazing people I’ve ever met. They did an absolutely amazing belt for my daughter. I get to go pick my new belt up today. The detail and top notch quality is impressive. Any time we get near the shop, my kids beg to go say hi to Jan and Mark. In my opinion, Old school leathers moth is the best business in Texas. They make me feel like I’m back home in Kentucky. You get what you pay for and I will gladly give my money to these fine folks and their neat shop. Thanks Jan and Mark for treating us like royalty when we come in. Joe, Olivia and Joe #2

Really is a special place made by special people. It is chock full of “old school” hand made things.. if you ever wanted those knee high Buffalo moccasins like myself here is the place to go. I wish the rest of Tx was so hand made and contentious to craft and service. Super.

This guy has real talent! I’m 50 years old and have been wearin cowboy boots my whole life! I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve gotten a pair of my boots repaired. He did half sole, replaced heals, did some inside work, cleaned and polished my 9-10 year old sharks. They are better than brand new! I highly recommend the service here!!!

The owner and his wife are straight shooters. I walked into their shop on a late Saturday afternoon in the middle of a weekend trip from Ny. I didn't pack enough pairs of pants and needed a belt bad. It wasn't the kind of place where people who just want a belt go and shop. It's high quality leather and material, and the products are made for people who need them. The owner asked me a few questions, took my measurements, and 30 minutes later I had a beautiful leather belt made of English brittle (not sure what that means) the belt has held up for months and he even gave me a few sterling silver studs so I never forget it came from Texas for 85 bucks. Soon I'll return with more money and bigger aspirations

The leatherwork here is *TOP NOTCH* and the owners, Mark and Jan are helpful, thoughtful, and FAIR people. My boots were in sorry shape, and I mean un-walkable, but I had walked in them anyway, for longer than I should have).

Old School Leathersmith has excellent service, kindness, and seeing the signs they hang in the shop are worth the trip. I highly recommend anyone in the area going by and seeing how leather is done the right way. You will learn more at this shop then anywhere else in town!

As the owner, in response to "Bob",we stand behind our work. We are more than happy to look at your boots and see exactly why you are so unhappy. We take your complaint very seriously and are willing to remedy any issue. Interestingly, however, I do not find a customer by the name of "Bob Fritsch".
