Don't bother giving The Culinary Room your business.
- The owners have a long history of bullying their workers, leading to a high turnover rate
- Place is pretty gross if you look close enough. Floors are never mopped; there's a huge fly and gnat issue that will more often than not land in food, sometimes even getting stuck and have to be picked out; bananas are constantly going bad in the back
- High prices leave this place as a tourist trap at best
- Issues such as faulty vents, AC, and electricity in the back kitchen leaves the building full of smoke some evenings
You're better off getting your weekend dessert somewhere else.

Great banana pudding and cookies! However, if you plan to have them cater an event, don't bother. Edit: Thanks for your response!(which has been the fastest so far) but I'm sorry to say you are misinformed considering the wedding is on a Monday and not in SA. It's clear for a mom and pop shop that you simply didn't need the business. Thanks again.

Cutest little corner store with all kinds of kitchen and baking things! My cousin loved the banana pudding and said it was the best she ever had!! Staff was so kind and friendly.
My reason for the 4 stars is that the cookie I got was severely undercooked. I love a soft cookie, but the center of this was literally just a ball of uncooked dough, super squishy, and had no baked cookie flavor. Disappointing because the cooked edges were delicious.

A definite must visit!After a walk around the very cute town of Lockhart we ventured into this store. From the moment we walked in we were welcomed by the staff with smiles and warm greetings.The store itself has a great variety of items but is most known for its banana pudding (unfortunately we were saving room for BBQ so we skipped it).We chatted to the staff during our visit and truly wished we had more time to ‘stay awhile’ but we will definitely revisit next time we’re in Lockhart to say hi!

Peaceful and quiet, and friendly staff!And I was the one who tried the sample of the key lime pie, anyways, your Banana Pudding is the best ever I have ever tasted! The Number One Pudding in the world!Oh, and btw, I came all the way from Houston, Texas!

The cute seating outside caught my eye, and they ended up having some amazing banana pudding! The little Pomeranian definitely added to the atmosphere of the place! The customer service was fine, very straightforward. I do recommend giving the pudding a shot!

We stumbled upon this cute little store about 2 years ago. Since then, I can't tell you the number of times that my husband has stopped by the shop and come home with a bag of South Texas Shelled Pecans from Yoakum, Texas. This man doesn't like stopping by any store other than Dollar General, so this is a BIG deal! :) We live about 30 minutes away as well! The pies are delicious as well!

We stopped by the Culinary Room during Lockhart's First Friday and Loktoberfest. What a delightful store - full of delicious treats and wonderful gift ideas! My dog had the best time being pampered by the friendliest staff and I enjoyed two scoops of Amy's ice cream on a freshly made chocolate waffle cone! Oh and their famous banana pudding was scrumptious.

Went for the Amy's Ice Cream...ended up buying Mexican Vanilla, plus purchased some locally made honey and locally made jam. Nice, quaint place that also had some good looking food for lunch. Lots to see, will come back.

I went in to grab a quick dessert for the family. These gals are too sweet! I was really hoping to pick up a full sized pie, but I'll have to special order one next time I plan on driving through. The banana pudding was perfect and was a big hit with the whole family. Thank you gals for your southern hospitality! <3

We friend and I went on a Lockhart tour and hit up all the BBQs. Honestly, the culinary room was the highlight of my trip!!! I am a savory girl through and through. But the pudding desserts were to die for! They have keto pudding too! They will welcome you into their shop with many knick-knacks and trinkets. You will want to buy everything in the store. Then they will offer you a sample. This is a trick on two levels because 1. you will love their banana pudding 2. you will want to try their other puddings. You will want to like the other ones, but don't be bothered, the banana one is the BEST. We got medium (WHICH IS HUGE), and got two flavors: the key lime and banana. Four bites in, I wished all of it was banana. But their world-famous banana pudding is DELICIOUS! I can't get over it, thinking about it now makes me want to go get more.
