It was my first time having my labs covered by insurance instead of by another company that does it automatically, and I don't have a copy of my own card, so I thought I would need to pay out of pocket. BUT Amy saved the day! She was very helpful and explained everything to me, no judgment whatsoever! (For others who may be going through the same transition, my insurance information was included in my lab order from Plume, and in the event that that insurance isn't correct, they will also take pictures of your insurance card! Just not at the kiosk)
Then, when it was time for my blood to be drawn, it was literally the smoothest and most painless needle stick I've ever sat through, and I have done countless blood & plasma donations (which of course, ARE a larger gauge, so they would be more painful), as well as my self-done weekly testosterone injections (which is only 25g!). She was also very gentle and efficient in applying the cotton and paper tape afterwards.
If you're seeing Amy this November, please wish her a happy 16 years in phlebotomy on my behalf!!
Editing my review after reading the others to add: I have gone exclusively to this lab since starting my HRT journey, and I have never EVER had a bad experience! Each time, my phlebotomist has been very kind and helpful, and the process is always over in less than 5 minutes from checkin to walking out the door. I implore more people to leave reviews here, as I feel it unfair for the ratings to be so heavily impacted by a small handful of unfortunate experiences. The staff here is fantastic, and should not be defined by a couple bad days!”
