Upon checking into the hotel, we were immediately disappointed by the state of the room. The overall interior was a mess, with outdated and worn furniture, and it was clear that no effort had been made to maintain or update the room in quite some time. To make matters worse, the heater was completely nonfunctional, leaving the room cold and uncomfortable. After bringing this to the attention of the front desk, we were moved to a different room, hoping for a better experience. While this second room looked marginally better in terms of cleanliness and overall appearance, it was still far from ideal. It had an incredibly obnoxious, overpowering aroma that made it nearly impossible to relax or enjoy the space, no matter how long we aired it out. The combination of the unpleasant smell and the overall lack of comfort made it clear we wouldn’t be staying the night, so we decided to leave the hotel the same day we checked in. When we went to ask for a discount or some sort of compensation for the awful experience, we were denied without any reasonable explanation or willingness to accommodate us. This experience was incredibly frustrating, and while the hotel may have had potential, it was clear that maintenance and customer service were severely lacking. We felt completely disregarded as guests, and instead of receiving any understanding or apology, we were met with indifference. It was a huge letdown, and we will not be returning or recommending this hotel to anyone.

Woke up covered in bed bug bites. The owner/manager refused to even think about making it right!!!

Room was clean and nice. The bed was pretty hard. I would give the bed two stars. The night stand fell off the wall, but that was probably the fault of the contractor who installed it. I would stay here again.

We tried to talk with the manager at the hotel about our issues and getting reimbursed but they said we had to talk to the third party.
Our issues:
Upon arrival we noticed following:
No soaps
No shampoos
No towels
Toilet Paper was almost gone
Bed sheets looked to have been slept on
Nightstands still had rings from a coke ( I washed them and they came up)
Bathtub didn’t look clean
I spoke to the front desk, they brought up towels.
I went down a second time to tell them about the soaps, sheets, and we still did not have ANY washcloths or bathmat even after they brought us towels. The front desk guy came up with a cart full and him AND I remade the bed.
Breakfast trash cans were full by 9:00 am and no one was emptying them even though workers were standing around talking.
The whole place looked dirty. I honestly feel like they emptied the trash in our room and left.
We were offered a minimal refund (basically the tax)
This hotel had great reviews and many family members stayed here as well. Almost everyone of them were complaining about the lack of cleanliness, and other issues.
The cleaning crew stand around in the hallway and chat, The breakfast crew walk around the full trash can and ignore it. They all have the mindset that its' someone else's job and not there's. We will stay anywhere else next time, for this hotel brings the whole BW Brand down. Update: they only offered $40 off. We will not return to a Best Western again.

If I could give zero stars, I would. What does the Texas State plauge say? Check out is 12 noon. So why at 10ish is housekeeping asking me to be ready, then comes back and says check out is 11. The door says 12, so that's on yall. Not enough? The front desk calls me and tells me, "At 1135, I need to get out her room." We'll your room tells me check out is 12, that's on yall not me. Then says I have 10 mins, no I have 25. But whatever. Worst experience ever that faults them. Fix you doors in all your rooms that say 12 noon. You couldn't pay me to stay here. HORRIBLE! STAY AWAY.
Edit. I respect it if the check out is 11, but don't threaten me. I told them what the door said, and their reply was, "That's not accurate," which once again isn't my fault. You shouldn't have it on the door. Then, the front desk should've handled it differently. They should've said that it's on our end that it says 12 it's actually 11. But I get aggression and get threaten "you need to get our room." Don't get on here and apologize. You all were wrong but treated me like I was wrong. How you threaten a guess when it's your fault? Make that make sense. STAY AWAY!

Ryan at the front desk was awesome in helping us with our reservation. I had booked the wrong day! He was extremely polite & helpful.

Our youngest son got locked in bathroom and maintenance could not get him out
He did.. terrible experience. In an amazing city with Texas Tech !!

Room was great and desk person provided us with an upgrade. Location was quick and easy to get back on Freeway the next morning. Enjoyed the stay.

Decent location, right off of the highway. Room was clean and front desk associates on each shift were kind and accommodating. Room was very clean, bigger than expected and housekeeping was very sweet. We didn't have a single issue during our stay. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Rooms: Spacious and clean. Ac was amazing.
Safety: we parked in the back of the hotel and no one disturbed our belongings

Front staff is rude and if there is a problem with the rooms or if there are things needed they act like you are a nuisance.
Rooms are not well taken care of. There are gross looking stains all over the carpets. Tiles are broken and trim tiles falling off the wall. Bathroom floors had sticky spots that had dried on them. Overall- there are little things all over that need taken care of that aren’t. Walls are visibly dirty. Blinds in the room are broken. My children found a pocket knife by the bed and other random items left by strangers. This showed us that there is not much care when cleaning the rooms. Floors definitely needed a good vacuum. We were making up the bed a bit in the morning and the frame collapsed under it.
Pool is pretty- but not well maintained. Again, broken fences/gates and tiles. It is very, very cold.
Continental breakfast was good.
The price was nice- but you will get what you pay for.

We checked in at this hotel for 3 weeks, a few days after checking in on first floor room we had to switch rooms due to roaches coming out of the drains constantly. The second room we’ve been in over a week now and only found one roach so far ( cross our finger) however the fridge literally screams multiple times an hour often for long period of time. Maintenance said they had fixed it the one day and no difference, so he came back that evening when I had called again down to front desk to try hear it but it didn’t make the sound so he left after 5 minutes and said he would be back the next day to swap it out, well next day is here now and still no fridge. Front desk is ignorant and rude, says there is nothing they can do. I had said to the guy at the front desk so we’re just suppose to listen to this fridge squeeling all night and his response was “yea I guess”. We’re suppose to be here right through until April will definitely be checking into another hotel.
