Justin is an exceptional dog trainer! His kindness, expertise, and patience made all the difference in our training sessions. I learned a lot from him, and he even worked wonders with Nelly Nelson's family dogs. Please ask him to share that wonderful story with you when you hire him. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a knowledgeable and caring trainer. You are a 10 star in my book!

I used Justin and Modern Dog several years ago when we acquired a stray dog that was considerably larger than our first dog. When you're going from a 24 pound corgi to a 60 pound pit mix, you can't exactly put the dog where you need it to be. I knew I needed help. After making numerous calls to other trainers and facilities, when I spoke to Justin, I knew I made the PERFECT choice. Justin was very informative, patient with me and helped me with Asher. His method of teaching is soft spoken, calming, and Asher truly enjoyed his class times with Justin. Fast forward, I get another dog after Asher's passing and I was able to take the things that Justin taught me and apply them to Samson. Justin was always there for us - to answer questions, offered suggestions. About a year and a half ago, we rescued Dotty Lou, a poor pup that had been abandoned twice in less than 6 months, her needs were more than I could handle. I reached out to Justin and he worked with Dotty and I. Again, his soft spoken and calming demeanor put Dotty and I at ease. I know that we all miss him in Lubbock, but know that the folks in Fort Worth have a gem of a trainer and I hope that they will all take advantage of his great training and relatability to dogs. He is a blessing to all who have the opportunity to use Modern Dog Training. I simply can't thank him enough for all that he has done for our two dogs.

i worked with justin a few years ago while i was in college & it was a great experience ! i had rescued a shihpoo that i thought was aggressive with other dogs, but he worked with justin for a few days and put my worries to rest ! to this day, i still use the leash justin gave me/ recommend i use and love it ! not sure what it's called, but another great rec by him ! i highly recommend, great with dogs and dog wonders, very passionate about his work :)

Justin was a fantastic trainer! I took my basset hound puppy to Justin for training, he completely changed my relationship with my Winona for the better. Not only did he train my puppy, he trained me to be a better owner. The patience he showed throughout training was amazing. It was impossible to walk her, until we met Justin. It's been 3 years since we trained with Justin & I'm still able to use the skills he taught me as an owner. With Justin, you won't have to worry about finding another trainer a few years later if you stick with what he teaches! When we get another puppy, I'll be traveling the 5 hours to Modern Dog because I wouldn't trust anyone else with my babies.

Justin trained my dog derby and I purchased the 4 session package, and boy was it worth it!!! My dog, Derby is a beagle so howling is in his nature- within 3 sessions I was able to leave my apartment and Derby was already doing so much better and with continued practice in his training, I no longer have to worry about leaving and Derby howling while I'm away. We also worked on walking nicely on a leash, recall, and Justin even brought his dog to interact with Derby since I've been a helicopter mom since he had been attacked at a dog park in November. He is so appreciated and highly recommended to anyone looking to train their dog and improve their manners/behavior. Justin goes above and beyond- answering questions whenever you have them and recommended a great calming supplement that has calmed Derby's anxiety immensely! I am very grateful for all that Justin did to improve Derby all the way around!!

Amazing! I cannot recommend Justin enough! I have a very high energy/ active dog who started to demonstrate some fear/reactivity after an incident with another dog. Justin was kind, patient, informative and very helpful in helping me to understand my dog and how to help her! After just the first session I left with more knowledge and tools to help my dog overcome her fears! I am so grateful to Justin for his help and feel confident again in working with my dog. I have already recommended him to family and friends and will continue to recommend him to anyone I come across looking for some help with their dogs. After a few sessions my dog was squealing in excitement to see Justin and work with him. Thank you Justin for all of your help!!!

We rescued an Australian Shepherd mix (about 6 months old) she was very hyper and tended to bite/nip as her way of communicating with us. We realized that we needed professional help or this may get worse. We contacted Justin of Modern Dog, as he had many pictures of Australian Shepherds and we needed some one with expedience in training a herding dogs. We are very grateful we did! We purchased the 4 sessions package. The difference in just 4 training sessions is night and day. She is calmer and more relaxed. We learned that in order to change some of her behaviors, we had to change some of our behaviors. Justin brought his Blue Heeler over to help socialize Paige, and this worked out well and increased our confidence to introduce her to other dogs. We love that he does not use punishment as a way to train our dog! Justin is a professional and great to work with, we highly recommend his services!!

Justin was an amazing help to Joey and me. He gave me so much knowledge and help me better understand my dog everything he said made so much sense to me. Just one session and my dog Joey was doing so great like he never had before! Thank you Justin and we will continue to practice everything you showed us. The reviews about this company are true. Justin is a true professional, and a really nice guy. I hired him to help with an out of control German Shepard, and Justin went above and beyond what I thought was possible in such a short time. This experience was so much more than typical dog training commands you will understand dogs in a different way after learning from Justin. Worth every penny.

Justin was amazing!!! He was so helpful and loving to my little guy Flynn. Flynn is still a baby and deals with separation anxiety and couldn’t even be alone for 10 seconds. Now after one session and Justin’s tips, has been able to be alone for longer and longer which was unheard of for him. I can’t recommend him enough, thank you!!!

Justin really impressed me! He was so much more knowledgeable about behavior in dogs compared to some other trainers I worked with before. I have an extremely reactive pitbull terrier. It surprised me how calm and gentle he was with my dog who’s very difficult to handle. I learn so much just watching how he was with my dog. Other trainers advised me to use some very corrective training tools, but Justin just used rewards only, and had great results and quickly too. I’m thankful I took a chance on him. It was invaluable. Don’t hesitate hiring Justin. Thanks again you’re an awesome dog trainer!

Justin was very knowledgeable of dogs and their behavior. After one session I have learned how to better communicate with my dog and have seen a noticeable change in his responsiveness the following day! I am extremely satisfied with my experience and would definitely book another session.

Justin came to my home and helped me learn to manage my dogs. He was very patient and soft spoken. My animals accepted him immediately. One may have thought that I didn’t need help from a trainer because my dogs are pretty well behaved, but there are some little things I’d like to work on to make life more enjoyable, not only for me but my dogs as well. To be honest I never post reviews, but I felt compelled to post this one. I almost gave up hope with helping my dog with his fearful/aggressive behavior until I meet Justin at Modern Dog. In 2 training sessions I learned so many things I was doing wrong, and how to fix them. Not only did he help me overcome some behavior issues he also taught me to have more compassion, and love my dog better. I’m so thankful for Justin.
