The Silent Wings Museum is a very enjoyable and fantastic museum dedicated to the history of the World War II military glider program. It is a well done, first class museum with a number of interesting displays and a ton of information. Visitors often spend more time than intended, losing track of time while exploring. The museum is well taken care of, up to date, and compares favorably to larger national institutions. It is definitely worth a look. The people and volunteers are friendly and awesome, answering questions and creating a welcoming environment. Children love the exhibits, and the museum hosts different events throughout the year. It is a great stop for anyone, especially those interested in military history.
Went for D-Day memorial event and was not disappointed in the activities and planes

One of the BEST museums in the Panhandle. The displays are present a clear representation of what life was like to train as a WWII glider pilot as well as glider infantry. The staff is very knowledgeable and they make everyone feel welcome.

I honestly had no idea that gliders had a major role in WWII, and this museum is amazing!
