In regards to their NYE event: Worst NYE event ever attended! Food was terrible! Not served according to menu posted previously and as per “servers” everything had seafood in it which clearly no one thought of people with seafood allergies!! DJ was just awful, let the music stop altogether at one point and didn’t even provide the countdown! Drinks were pricey but had very little alcohol in them and as the night went on the cups got smaller and smaller for the same price! Overall, event did not give a party vibe at all!! Clearly done by individuals who have never experienced Louisiana let alone Mardi Gras!!

I choose Spirit Ranch for the beauty and the how much was included in the package. We didn't have to worry about set up and clean up. The staff was very friendly and sweet. The food that was catered was good. The reason I am not giving 5 stars are so to things not being written down. I live in MT but am originally from Lubbock. I hired a wedding planner to help with coordinating due to the distance. I came down several months before my wedding to iron out the details. Like would my guests be eating inside or outside. Where the arch would go. None of this was written down so I got my guests eating inside where my live band couldn't play for them. They will tell you they can serve you brunch while your bridal party is getting ready but you will find out before your wedding that they cannot do that. They will provide snacks. I didn't really get to work with Mallory but she seems the most competent. I think they are working on the kinks but man you have to be on top of it. I was not. I trusted my wedding planners to handle everything and I guess this isn't what they were hired to do. There was also a chalkboard outside welcoming the wrong wedding couple. Good place to get marriedIt's beautiful and big with good food. They just need detailed oriented event planners.

My family reserved the Peacock Room for my Dads Celebration of Life in May of this year. Although it was hard to determine what it really looked like from online pics, we were more than pleasantly surprised at our experience. The waitstaff and especially Sarah, were extremely helpful, friendly and professional. Our food arrived on time to all attendees and was delicious. The venue itself was beautiful, I mean, it was hard to believe it was in Lubbock and not in some hidden enclave far away, what with the creek running through the property and large shady trees. Surely a hidden gem. I wish to thank all of those at Spirit Ranch who made this so special and emotional event be absolutely seamless. The Wells Family?

Like so many, we never planned to eat here and wandered off the highway 2 weeks ago after a snow storm diverted us south. The food and location were awesome. Only reason for 4 stars is the salty BBQ sauce. But everything else was great. They even had some great live music.

I made a down payment to reserve a room for our 50th anniversary party. This was done on January 24, 2023. I called them back the next day to go over the menu. I was told at that time they double booked that day. They said they would process a refund. As of today, February 2, 2023 I have not received it. The manager Jason Waters won't call me back. They keep telling me they have processed the refund bit it still is not on my account. Every time I call they say "Wait 3 days and it should show up by then." They told me the same thing once more today. I'm so disappointed in them. We will NEVER eat there again!

I'm a wedding planner and Spirit Ranch is a wonderful venue. They are great to work with, you get quite a lot included with your rental, and your choices for ceremony and reception location are great. I highly recommend this venue!

OCTOBER 2022 BRIDEI’m going to address this first. Get EVERYTHING in writing. Do not trust them to hold to any verbal discussions. There is hardly anything in their contract to hold them to after the fact, and to much was told to me verbally that I had to fight them on a week before my venue when everything was brought up along with addressing what happened after to the owner and Tori. This venue gets 5 stars when it comes to outdoor beauty in Lubbock, I’ll give it that. The food was also really good and our rehearsal dinner was perfect. Although, the kids buffet was never served during the reception. But wedding venue staff 0/1 star.Hopefully they have changed their documents since dealing with me but let me address my experience. The bridal suite Mimosa bar is not complimentary like I was told and the brochure made it out to be. (Had a video thankfully catching that a Mimosa bar would be provided day of) Were only given 2 bottles after sending that video to them. It was asked while touring if food prices would change when it came close to the wedding. We were told no and what food/alcohol prices we had in our brochure was final. Well boom, fight begins 2 weeks before the wedding about price changes in the invoice but we were never notified. Thank goodness for emails, it was discovered nothing was ever sent to us regarding a change in price. Even though we were told verbally this wouldn’t take place.Do not expect Tori to be present the day of the wedding like they tell you she will be. Couldn’t even tell you what she was wearing that day because I never saw her and my dad only saw her twice within the 8am-11pm time frame. GET A WEDDING PLANNER.Water ran out for over an hour during the reception, she was no where to be found. For 100+ people, they only had 3 people working that wedding. The bar tender was extremely rude to our guests, Tori was no where to be found to address it so my family had to step in and address the attitude. They started serving the food before me and my husband even did our reception entrance and before the set serving time. Tori was never to be found for that either. The day of, rain happened out of no where. We were told the seats would be wiped down. One guy went out there right before the ceremony with only 2 towels for 115 chairs, guest still ended up soaked. If you choose champagne as an alcohol option for the bar, make sure to note that you actually want that served through the night. Other wise, you’re going to pay for champagne that will not be offered because they automatically assume you are only using it for a toast even though it was never once discussed that it was to be used for that when we had a bar full of other selections as well.Make sure parking is addressed because we had the pavilion package but other people rented out the house across the water that was apart of a funeral service. People were parking by our bridal suite and walking across the waterway DURING the ceremony. Lovely right?!As for the bar cups, I highly recommend supplying your own because what they provided, Dollar Tree could have had better quality. They crumbled just with a light touch.Last, do not plan to get a good nights sleep in the bed in the bridal suite. One small wiggle and that whole bed shakes and creeks.

Great place for a smaller venue - our celebration comfortably accomodated about 150 people. The views were especially nicer in the evening with the lighting. Worth the investment.

We were on a long road trip home with our service dog and getting ready for another truck stop fast food and fuel stop and we saw Escondido Grill on my Google Maps screen. We simply pulled in on a whim. It was amazing. Our dog got a great spot to run around and enjoy the stop rather than some grassy or dirt area at a truck stop. Every single member of the staff was genuinely friendly and welcoming. Our waitress Jala said she was new, but we could not tell. Her service and food recommendations was fantastic. The food was perfect and the Texas Deviled Eggs appetizer was an absolute treat. The ducks and Peacocks surrounded in century old trees were also a great part of the experience. We took a longer route home to enjoy the drive and visit and see some different things. This will be our new preferred route and we will be making the Escondido Grill and Spirit Ranch a destination stop for a meal and a little break from the road.

Seems like a great place to get married. Somebody popped the question while we were across the creek at The Escondido Grill.

This is quite possibly one of the most unprofessional venues we have ever rented. First of all to rent the room there was no contract signed or rules reviewed to rent the room. Then after we paid for the room we weren't contact at ALL until within 24hrs of the event to let us know that we would be required to buy food and drink from the venue?? This requirement was never reviewed or brought to our attention until 24hrs before our event?? As we are not last minute people we already paid and made arrangements to get food elsewhere and have it catered!Absolutely horrible communication and service. I wish we never made the decision to do business with this place.

Reminds me of the Hill Country ? it’s hard to find rivers and huge trees in West Texas but Spirit Ranch has both! Amazing outdoor atmosphere. Good bar. Food was great! I think it was a smokehouse food truck? I’m moving away but I wish I knew this place is open just for dinner and drinks (and not just events) I would have stopped by more often! Someone did get pooped on by a peacock so beware but also have a sense of humor that’s the outdoors for ya!
