They are just desperate to pay the lawsuits they are losing . They raised my rates by 1000$ for 6 month premium. Claimed costs in my state increased by 400% .. funny how 4 other companies claimed costs went down in my state. Buyer be warned...

USAA is slowly changing. Not in the best ways but changes are happening with customer service and requiring more hurdles to get over.

I had the great displeasure of talking to several uninformed employee's of USAA today about my insurance or lack there of. Several weeks back I decided USAA has gotten so bad at their customer service as well as their ability to be affordable insurance that I decided to switch insurances. When I switched I was told that my insurance with USAA didn't end until Sept.17 and my new policy couldn't start until Sept 18. rewind to Sept. 4tn, my daughter gets hit by a drunk driver and thankfully is ok, talk to USAA about it and get told my insurance was canceled due to lack of payment. I start investigating it I find a notification via email from Aug. 22nd stating my insurance was going to end but with no date. USAA claims they mailed notification on Aug. 10th, and then sent notification on certified mail on Aug. 31st. I received neither and USAA has nothing showing I received the certified notifications( because I didn't receive it). Long story short I finally got someone to tell me that they can't legally cancel my insurance without 16 days notice, however I'm pretty good at math, a notification sent out by mail on the 10th doesn't constitute notification so they illegally canceled my insurance 15 days after sending the 1st notification. Folks learn what your rights are, in the state of Texas we have a department of Insurance for crooks like USAA who think they don't have to follow the rules. Save yourself time and trouble get insurance through somewhere else, USAA don't wear mask to protect from COVID, they wear them because they're crooks.

I am not a USAA insured, but filed a claim on one of their insured customers. The beginning of the process was fine, no issue, but they ended up totaling out my vehicle and were supposed to be sending me an electronic check. The first time they transposed the numbers in my account. Had to wait 5 days for the bank to reject because of the wrong account number. Then after I called them to check the status, because no one is calling me, they said they would re-issue the money that day. It still was not in my account or pending at my bank the next day, so I called again. Then they told me there was an issue the next day and again no one called me. I called. They keep telling me they are fixing the issue and submitting to re-issue the payment. I asked for a confirmation email, which I was then told she would send me once she has the approval and that it should only take 10-15 minutes. We are going on over 2 hours since that conversation and I have not received an email. I called back and she said she was waiting on approval. I asked for it to be escalated and she then tells me the lady who approves is in a meeting. I am getting tired of having to be the one to call to get any kind of status and feeling like I am getting the run around. Glad they are not my insurance carrier. Which is crazy, because I've always heard great things about USAA. They are going to hear from me every hour until I get the confirmation I need. This is causing issues with me purchasing a new vehicle to replace the one their insured totaled.
