Exxon on Lufkin — I just wanted a cold soda pop and a bag of candy, but Phil had other plans. He came in hot, hollering about gas prices like they personally wronged him. The cashier stayed cool as a popsicle, rang me up, and sent me on my way with my sugar stash intact. Phil might’ve been salty, but my candy was sweet and my soda was colder than his temper.
