I usually have good experiences with this place but yesterday I order a cookie cake and it looked terrible. I’m not one to leave bad reviews but it was really disappointing. I wanted the balloon design and I paid the expensive price of $40 for it and it was crunchy…they overcooked it and the design didn’t look anything like the picture, i decided not to ask for a refund because i had a bday dinner in 30 mins that needed a cake there. Will most likely not order from here in the future.

I went to pick up my cookie cake that I placed online 3 days in advance, when I got there the cake was not made and apparently the cake decorator went home without calling and letting me know my order was going to be cancelled like she was supposed to. I now have a birthday party and no cake, happy freaking birthday. ?

I called and spoke to a very friendly lady to order the cookie cake for my little boys 9th birthday. I told her what I wanted it to say, told her the theme, and tried to describe the picture, but words failed me. Well, the decorator and staff READ MY MIND. I picked up the cake and it was better than I had imagined, because I didn't describe it well. Well done, GAC, especially Jane, the decorator, phone answered 1 and 2!!

They dropped the ball on my son's 3rd birthday cookie. Didn't even make it. I had to go to Gaslight Brookshire Brothers bakery who did a phenomenal job with only a 2 hour notice.

Yesterday at 4:00 pm I went to pick up a cookie cake from the great American cookie shop in the Lufkin mall that we had preordered and paid for in advance. The reason for the one star is because of the poor service. I stood in line behind another lady. She repeatedly said ma'am trying to get one of the two girls attention behind the counter. One girl was talking to her friend on the back side of the kiosk & the other girl stood directly in front of the register with her back turned away from the customers. So finally I spoke out in a loud voice and said "ma'am!" I guess I said it loud enough because the girl finally turned around to take the lady's order. The other girl immediately came from the back side and asked if I needed help. I understand that these are high school kids and "good help" is hard to find, but without supervision they will never learn the right way. So I personally put the blame on the manager for not training these young ladies on how to use proper customer service. Each customer should be greeted in a polite manner, & and then politely asked how they could be helped. Then they should be able to help the customer answer any questions the customer may have. And then get the customer what they want. And after making a sale they should thank the customer with a big smile on their face and tell the customer to have a great day. I'm good with the prices, because the cookies are delicious, but some people may think twice about going here if the employees don't treat the customers good. Customer service and experiences can make or break a business.
