About The Candy Kitchen (Atkinson Candy Company Store)
The Candy Kitchen (Atkinson Candy Company Store) has a rich history dating back to 1932, when B.E. and Mabel Atkinson started making candy during the Depression to help their family survive. Their candies, some of which include original recipes like Peanut Butter Bars, are known for being fresh and tasty. Visitors love the chance to get fresh-made candy directly from the production line, which often tastes better and is fresher than store-bought options. The store offers a variety of candies, including favorites like Chico Sticks and coconut-flavored treats, with some flavors changing over time. Many visitors have nostalgic memories of visiting as children, recalling the experience of tasting warm, fresh candy during school field trips. The store is friendly and welcoming, with staff who are helpful and kind. Prices are affordable, with customers often able to purchase several bags of candy for a small amount. The shop also provides sugar-free options for those who need them. Although the store isn’t fancy, it’s a place filled with history and good memories, making it a special stop for candy lovers and those seeking a taste of the past.
Coconut 🥥 is one of my favorite flavors so I LOVE the candy 🍬. But they dont always have the same things each time.
I LOVE how u can get FRESH made candy here. I brought some Chico sticks back to houston with me, friends 🧡 liked them. They taste like the inside of a butterfinger bar.
