Had a scheduled small procedure done and was very satisfied. Check-in was smooth. The attending staff was friendly and helpful. Likes the small facility much better than the large big city hospitals.

This place was wonderful. The nurses are top notch. You never have to ask for anything. Jenifer the day nurse and all the rest are very professional in their duties. Vykkii the staff recreation lady is a hoot. She tries to get you what to eat when you ask for it. The sides and respiratory staff go beyond their duty. This was the most pleasant stay at a hospital I have ever had. Thank you ladies and gentlemen for your help in getting me back on my feet. As for the food it was terrible. The cooking staff at warm springs to learn how to cook. It was nasty and not very nutritional. Lots of complaints from the patient's. But I and my family will support this hospital and be thankful we have one in our community. Hats off ascension staff.

I was warned to go to Austin and skip Luling. Middle of Covid wave so we chose less crowded option. On a white board in the ER they had a list of steps to keep patients from walking out because people were drifting in for service and no one was helping them. You will likely get inferior treatment here. We did and then were billed for it. My partner didn't have health insurance (non-profit hospitals still must treat the uninsured). Once they found out they canceled tests they were planning and shuffled her out - while she was having a medical emergency. They had her hastily sign forms freeing themselves of liability. To have someone you love be measured, at their most vulnerable, against the bottom line of dollars and cents and tossed aside as not deserving help is sobering.Texas leads the nation in rural hospital closures. May Edgar B. Davis be next. Consider this your warning.

If I could give zero stars I would. The ER doctors don’t care about you or the reason you’re there to begin with. The ER doctor spent less than 1 minutes with me and refused to order an mri to find out the cause of my back pain. They’re quick to brush you off even when it’s slow. Spent more time waiting to get discharged then I did with the heath care workers. The only good thing about this place is the nurse David.

I took my daughter to the ER on a Sunday, since her pediatrician is CLOSED. We waited over an hour in the room. We were then moved to triage and then moved to a bed IN THE HALLWAY! We had NOT ONE update from the nurse. We didn't see the doctor at ALL! When I asked the nurse how much longer it would be before she would be seen since we had waited an hour.. she basically insinuated that my daughter was not sick! Instead of acting a fool, I went ahead and walked out. No one can tell another person if they are "sick enough" to be seen! Horrible bedside manner from the nurse..can not comment on the doctor since we didn't even see him or her! Would definitely NOT recommend this place! Even though it's only 10 minutes from our home, we will drive farther next time!

Made appointment for 10 am for my farther for radiology and waited for over an hour just to get seen. Why make appointments if it takes so long to get seen!

Went in last week and the dr and staff were amazing. Two days later my hand suddenly became worse with swelling and pain. I went back up there as was instructed by the first dr if it worsened. This time was horrible. The dr saw me a total of 15 mins. Long enough to stick a needle to shoot a local anesthetic then immediately started opening up the wound and pushing out blood that was built up. Said I was good and left. The nurse came in only to realize I hadn’t even been bandaged up. Worse part was finding out afterwards my teenage son had walked into the er to use the bathroom and heard me scream in pain from the dr jamming the needle into my hand. Poor kid turned around n walked back out bc he’d never heard me in that kind of pain before and got scared there was something seriously wrong. Sad part is, at that time I thought the dr actually helped me. Until not even 48 hours passed and my hand got worse. Suddenly swelling up more and feeling like there was someone holding a flame on my thumb in less than an hour span of time. After the last visit I was terrified of any doctor looking at it and going thru the treatment for it again. Luckily pain won out and I was taken to seguin’s emergency dept. Amazing difference in treatment. The staff, nurses and doctor were all compassionate and took their time alleviating my fears from my last experience. I was in tears over believing that’s I’d go thru that same situation again. The nurse made let me know right away that, that isn’t how it was supposed to be done properly. The doctor took his time to properly numb me and letting it set in before attempting to touch my hand. I really appreciate the extra care they took to make sure I was calm beforehand. The previous dr jabbed me and squeezed my hand till bruising, this doctor cut into my hand made sure everything was cleared out before cleaning the incision and covering the wound w bandages all while explaining what and why he was doing each step. Ironically my hand hurt less over this procedure hours after it happened than with the prior visit at ascension’s er. In luling I was first treated for cellulitis in my thumb, then a wound. In seguin I found out it was a felon that had become infected Bc it wasn’t treated properly or prescribed the right antibiotics. At luling the dr told me if it got worse to go to a hand specialist he recommended in buds and not back to the er. He even repeated it twice. It felt like he took more time and care emphasizing if anything suddenly got worse I needed to see this hand surgeon than he did about my hand in front of him. Seguin’s er told me to follow up with my primary physician but to come back if symptoms worsened before my appt. I’d never recommend this place after the treatment I received last time. The only relief I’ll be getting from there is from my wallet paying a bill that did nothing but prolonged my pain and could have ended up allowing an infection to spread further into my body’s bloodstream or turn septic if the pain hadn’t have forced me back into another er.
