AAA+++. Clean, clean, clean! Less costly than the Buccees down the road. Glad we stopped when we did, because as we passed Buccees, it was jam packed! All the gas pumps were occupied and had lines. The parking lot and sides were like a Walmart on a Saturday! I don't even want to imagine what it was like inside! This place is well stocked with plenty of selections. Their cafe area has plenty of tables and chairs. We drove in late about 5 p.m. so much of their hot food was in low supply, but their corn dogs and chicken cheese crisps were really good. They serve wings, chicken tenders, hamburgers, etc. We will be stopping here the next time we travel this way.

Well, once again, I’m here giving my personal opinion on something I love and adore—burritos and tacos…or in this case, just tacos.
So, I’ve spent the last couple weeks driving from the east coast down to the southern part of Texas. While in the area, I have realized there are a lot of places that serve and sell Mexican food, which is a “Duh” moment, considering the large Hispanic population. After all, Texas was their territory once upon a time, so why not have the greatest representation. So, I passed up this particular at place at least 3 times in the last two weeks. It wasn’t because I didn’t like the place, but it was because I was trying to stop at a truck stop that I’m much more familiar with. Toady, my hours were limited, due to driving earlier in the morning. So, that’s how I ended up here. I saw a billboard from this location boasting “Best Tacos”. This was my main motivation, instead of driving further along, risking not having a place to park as well. I stood in line behind a Hispanic gentleman who had placed his order. He ordered 3 tacos of different variety—a meat taco, a beef fajita…and a barbecue brisket taco; making me immediately say “Oh my, this is interesting”. I learned all this, after asking the server—“What did that guy just order”? After they told me, I said, “Let me get the same thing”. My impulse greed wouldn’t let me pass up getting a handful of potato wedges; something I clearly didn’t need but simply wanted, because they looked so appetizing behind the glass, not far from the tacos I was soon about to taste.
The meat taco and the beef fajita tacos were $3.99 each. The barbecue brisket taco came with at the premium price of $5.39 though. Now, as for the presentation ? They were simply wrapped, as the videos will show. There were no additional toppings to be added or offered, unless I overlooked something. It was tortilla and meat…plain and simple, though the taste was not plain. This was some flavorful meat from first to last bite of the first two tacos, as I challenged myself to eat them all, so I could give my honest opinion and view. I was not dissatisfied at all with the meat taco or the beef fajita taco. I would recommend these two to any person wondering what to order from this location. Now, as for the barbecue beef brisket taco. At $5.39 for such a simple taco, this damn thing was apparently worth every damn dollar. Oh my goodness !!! This was some savory meat people. After the first bite, I was regretting not ordering 2 or just replacing the two I already had with two of these things, but I didn’t know, right? I should have guessed something though, as I watched the server scoop the last of the barbecue beef brisket from the pan onto the tortilla shell, which would become my taco eventually. There was plenty of meat left from the other choices…but not this. This has to be “a house favorite” for those passing though this town, like me; and if that’s really the case, I see exactly while. It was an amazing taco…and even contained a couple small chunks of fat, letting me know this was real beef and not something scooped from a cup and microwaved, like some places I’ve visited in the last. I don’t know how it was prepared, and honestly…I don’t want to know. I just want to keep on thinking it was cooked by caring and loving hands, carved, and seasoned to perfection with spices and sauce. Let me have my moment please. I HIGHLY SUGGEST someone just try this, if you never have…and don’t be greedy like me, and get some potato wedges to compliment the barbearé beef brisket or any of the other two. These are stand alone items that can hold their own. I’m locking this location into my GPS, so that I know it’s worth the stop in the future; and to think—I drove right past this place 3 times, before finally stopping here. What can I say…”We live and we learn”…the hard way unfortunately.

Nice new Station on 10.
Lots of Truckers stop here now, since Buc-ee's is the next exit. Big Trucks ? not allowed there.
But I have missed the exit before and Thus place was a saving happiness.
