We went late so most of them were closed. I was still able to score fresh honey that was canned that morning. We also got fresh peaches, mangos and potatoes

HUGE WATERMELONS. Our friend brought us for some fresh vegetables. What a surprise. We bought a watermelon and a cantaloupe. They are both sweet and large. The watermelon probably weighs 10 pounds and we opted for a smaller one. The folks who run the stand were very friendly. Parking was a little tight but doable

I decided to take my girlfriend on a drive down memory lane. I had told her about the animal-themed oil derricks I'd seen passing through when I was young and she was immediately sold on the detour. While driving through town, we saw some plants for sale and had to make the stop (we're plant folk). I'm really glad that we did. I didn't realize there was an entire farmer's market tucked right inside the main area of town. The plant selection was small, but interesting, and we picked up about five plants before heading down the main corridor. Mind you, this is a very small market, with maybe about 10-15 vendors in total. Normally, I'd consider these types of spots expensive, but we were really happy with the bang for our buck and the quality of the produce. The shine and size of the tomatoes was unbelievable. The cucumbers were huge. And who knew watermelons came in such variety? (On that note, for the watermelon capitol of the world, some of these vendors didn't know jack about watermelons. What's the difference between red, orange and yellow "meat"? I couldn't say, as no one was able to explain it to us). We even picked up some jams and jellies, local honey, and some amazingly-hot dipping sauce. All in all, I'd say we spent about $300 in a straight line of about 100 feet. Most vendors have iPad attachments and can accept plastic, but don't expect everyone to be so modern; cash is still king in places like this, and we were reminded the hard way. Thankfully, there is an ATM across the street. Everyone was really sweet and chatty, and provided a personal touch to every transaction. I just wish someone could have educated us on those dang watermelons...

On the way to PartyNcamp at mount breeze, we detoured as usual along our spontaneous route my travel wife/friend and I stopped for some countryside watermelon-we were absolutely blown away! Kind service and a plethora of options of fruits and vegetables, we visited heaven in earth!

Came for our annual trip to get a yellow meat watermelon. It's open and has a couple more stands with fresh veggies and a lot of watermelon! Go try it! Praying this one is sweeter this year!
