My 15 year old babies started showing problems and with just a couple visits he had them acting like young'ens again. Dr. Granger loves his patients and wants them to live a long and healthy life. His staff is just as amazing as he is. Love this clinic!!

Been going to Countryside vet clinic since moving into the area back in mid 1980s. Then Dr Tom Granger bought the practice and I am still taking my fur babies there, a wonderful stall and I can not say enough great things about Dr Granger.

This will be long, but I want those reading & the staff of this clinic to fully understand how grateful I am for their service. My senior (14 yrs) dachshund began showing strange symptoms Tuesday evening of this week. Around midnight I decided to take him to our local emergency vet. I knew this would be goodbye in that he has struggled with a number of health issues for the last couple of years. When I arrived at the clinic I was asked to wait in my car as they were finishing up with a critical case. He said it won’t be very long. After waiting an hour I called from my car to ask if they had any idea how much longer and I was told they had no idea. At that point I took my suffering baby home because I knew he would be less stressed at home than sitting waiting in the car. He continued to deteriorate at home. Wednesday morning I called my regular vet and they said I could come at 1 and wait. I called another vet which has been my backup over the years when my first choice was booked. They said they couldn’t see me until 5pm. My baby was suffering, drooling, pacing, arching his back, howling. If he would decide to lay down he’d just fight trying to get comfortable & was unable to get himself back up. I simply could not watch this or allow it any longer. Frantically I began to call clinics here in Lumberton. That big fancy one that everyone swears by in town said they wouldn’t not take a walk in emergency for euthanasia. Then I called Countryside. The lady who answered listened to me explain the situation & she kindly said yes please bring him in before 11:30. As I pulled up to the office I noticed a pink notice on the door that read “not accepting new clients” I walked in the clinic with a tear stained face. The front desk lady knew without asking that it was me. Everyone there was kind. Shortly after (less than 10mins) I was lead to the back by another empathetic tech. When the doc came in he just looked me in the in eyes and said “so it’s time?” And I said “yeah” He assured me that his behavior sounded like a stroke & there’s no treatment for it. So they prepared him and I held my sweet babies head tenderly as his precious life peacefully slipped away. I was surprised by my gasp of grief. I shook & sobbed loudly as the vet tech rubbed by back and consoled me. They gave me all the time I needed. When your pet is in crisis you too are in crisis. I had known his time was coming for the last couple of years. But what made this even more tragic was that I couldn’t find someone to help stop his pain. Countryside was there for us even though they aren’t taking new clients. After this experience they would certainly be my first choice to care for my animals if their practice was accepting new clients. I have no doubt it’s their special loving care that keeps them busting at the seems with patients. Countryside staff & Dr Gardner I thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️Fly high my sweet boy
