Great staff, caring

I recently took my cat there for a comprehensive exam. The front desk lady was really nice, and I felt comfortable leaving my cat there to get the care he needed. However, later I got a call saying that my cat was being uncooperative and hissing at staff, therefore I needed to reschedule his comprehensive , be present during his next appointment , and that he needed to take anxiety medication beforehand. I proceeded to do so and took him home. I was baffled. I have taken my cat to SEVERAL different hospital locations and they never complained about my cat or said he was being uncooperative- and I have taken him to banfield hospitals in Wichita, Rockwall, and Wylie on several occasions. I decided to reschedule with a different location in Grand Prairie. I went there this morning and the doctor and staff said that he was very calm, that they had no issues, and that they were sure that he did not need to take the anxiety medication moving forward. With that being said, I now have my suspicions as to what the staff at mansfield did to my baby boy. Could he have had a bad day when he went to mansfield? possibly, but he has never , in the two years that i’ve had him, had a bay day to where he is hissing at me or anyone. My cat has been played with roughly in the past, and we have had NO issues.I am not accusing the staff or hospital, but I find it pretty interesting how they are the first and only hospital that has had this issue. And I know my baby well enough to know that he would not have been that way for no reason.

My reviews are normally positive reviews for a reason. BANFIELD by far has earned an extra star or two today. My 130 Alaskan Malemute passed away around 820. Trying to revive her it actually started raining and we haven’t had much of that this year. It’s really hard trying to wrap your head around one of your BFFs passing and fortunately BANFIELD came to my rescue. Gave me some very easy to deal with options which were all great. Said to “take my time and then come see them.” Showing up was met with caring staff who made me feel like they felt my pain. It was so appreciated I hardly can say enough. If I run into an emergency situation I will not hesitate to take my remaining BFF in there for treatment. When you know people care and are going to do the best they can for you……you are in good hands.Thank you to everyone for your help…..support….and understanding. ??

Horrible communication from this location. I spend plenty of money and time on my dogs here and yet I called to get a question answered about medication refill or making an appointment. A simple situation, I was promised an answer, promised a phone call and never got one. Tried calling multiple times after but just went to voicemail. I tried calling the next day and still no response and I had to leave another message. I love Banfield and their pet plans, but this is ridiculous.

Dr Barber is by far the BEST vet I have ever brought any of my pets to. She was thorough, kind, and you could tell she really cared about her job. She was very detailed and caring when explaining my dog’s diagnosis and the treatment plan. I had already left feeling like she was a fantastic vet, but I couldn’t even believe it when she called me HOURS after Banfield had closed to tell me that she re-ran my dog’s urine sample and found a UTI that they had previously missed! It was so unbelievably kind that she cared enough about my dog getting the proper treatment for her to double check to make sure the results were correct. On top of that, all of the staff that I had met from drop off to pick up were very friendly! I really appreciate the entire staff at this Banfield!

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! This place definitely only cares about the money! My dog came in with an injury that was very minor and now it’s 10x worse. My dog has a cone on his head and is being watched 24/7 but for some reason his stitches has fallen out and they will not help us with what could have happened or let us speak with a doctor to see what how much it will be before we get there. Please don’t take your dogs here!

I set an appointment online, a received a confirmation via email, went to appointment, and they said their online system isn’t wiring cirrrctly and turned me away, even after I asked them to fit us in. Mind you, there is absolutely no one parked outside or in the waiting room. I didn’t take my car to the 24 he animal hospital last night strictly because I was able to get this 10 am Sunday appt at Banfield, nuu it w we’re left with no pet care. And their system set a different date and time without actually stating so, after looking closer to the details of the online confirmation.the problem is, their system let me choose the open date and time, then on its own, changed it with no notification.

For the most part, the front desk is friendly enough as it may vary as to who is on shift. However, the vet closes the sale every time!

I love all the staff and vets here. Highly recommend. I think the puppy wellness plan is so worth it too.

The head guy employee, not the vet, was very rude and not very nice at all. I'm not sure he even likes animals. He sure doesn't like people. Also, instead of doing an examination and making suggestions to get to a diagnosis, their first procedure is suggest every expensive test they have (one will show something, right?). I guess they do that, so just picking one or two expensive tests would become more acceptable to chew on than doing all of them.My dog had a simple upset stomach, and diarrhea just needed some type of dog antibiotic, but they wanted to do $500-$800 of tests. No way! I had a good laugh. I pulled my dog out as quickly as possible cause this pet hospitals first priority is not the animal but profit. My dog got better by herself a day later. What a disaster it could of been because Banfield doesn't do examinations they let the $15 an hour employee suggest tests, without a veterinarian present, to get customers in and out to and make profit as quickly as possible.I know all Banfields are not like this, but this one is. I would steer clear from this Mansfield Banfield location and go find a veterinarian hospital that really cares for your pet.

My dog has been going to Banfied since he was a puppy. He was 5.5 years old and I have been going to the Banfield Pet Hospital on Hulen. I changed to the Mansfield Pet Hospital about 3 years now. I took him to the Mansfield Banfield Pet Hospital on 1/19/23 because the night before my dog had a seizure. I was so worried about him and I called them early a,m to get him in. I was told that I could bring him and to leave him so a vet could check him out. I fed my dog and took him in and dropped him off as directed by Banfield. Beau appeared to be alert and he was walking fine when I got there on Jan 19, 23 about 8am. Around 1pm , I got a call on my cell from a vet by the name of Dr. J. Barber. She says that she looked at my dog and found out that his glucose was low, and asked me if I fed him before coming. I told her yes, and she said that his glucose reading shouldnt be like this. She said she wanted to get his glucose levels up and wanted to keep him a little longer to evaluate him. I did and I got another call from her saying that his levels had gone up and that I could come get him. I was so glad to hear this. She also told me what she thought it may be but that would require a test. I ask her how much was the test and I told her ok. The test was supposed to check his glucose levels and see if they could find a reason for the glucose being so low. So, I go and pick up my dog that afternoon. Beau looked better and appear to be his old self. I was greated by a vet tech who handed be a printout of the condition the vet thought Beau had. The condition is called Insulinoma. Oh, before I forget, the vet told me over the phone to not let Beau's stomach go completely empty and to get some Karo syrup just in case he goes into a low sugar status again. What I don't understand how the vet never came out to talk to at all! The vet tech relayed all the instructions from the vet and told me to call back if I needed anything. Wow! Little did know the vet would never call me back! The night of the 19th around midnight, I was awakened by this blood curdling scream. I was so startled and I ran to see what it was. My dog was having a horrible seizure!! He was rigid and screaming so loud that I just knew the neighbors would wake up. He wasnt my dog that I knew anymore. He had a look in his eyes that look like he was not even there. The seizures keep coming! I lost count after the 7th one. I was there at my house on the living room from midnight to 6:30 crying and trying to care for him It was a nightmare, I called a neighbor when I saw the sun come up to help me. I tried calling Banfield but they weren't open. I felt like I had no other option but to take him to a 24 Hr Emergency clinic. I took him to Animal Emergency Hosp of Mansfield. So glad I did. First of all, they treated me and my sick dog with so much compassion. I was a nervous wreck. To see my sweet dog suffering so much hurt so bad. I will never forget it. The vet there came out immediately to speak to me!! I appreciated that more than anything. To make a long story short; I told her my dog's history with the Banfield Pet Hospital and his symptoms. She look at me and asked if they did a test and I said yes. Then she said what she thought it was. She said that it look like it was a tumor causing it. Anyway, she seem more knowlegable and answere all my questions. She said that those types of tumors were usually malignant and fast growing. After she said that and told me that surgery wasn't a guarantee he would be on tons of medicine and his life wouldn't be the same, I decided to let my Beau go. I didnt' want him to suffer any longer. Just what I been through with all the seizures was too much. He was such a strong, loving dog and I wanted him to go with his dignity. The E.R vet advised me to call the other vet and let her know what happen and to see if I could get my money back on that test since it was only done yesterday. I called Banfield and after they asked me for my name, the receptionist said, "Oh you're Beau's mom. How'

While I don't hope that I need their services again, when we needed their help they were there for us and did a fantastic job. They listened to our concerns, answered our questions and gave us all the available options. If you are in need, I highly recommend this pet hospital!

I would recommend this Vet! Dr Barber, the other vets and staff take such great care of my two German Shepherds ? Even though my little puppy Luna is such a anxious mess when visiting their office, they are so patient with her and go at her speed. I appreciate the love and care they give to Luna and Nala too!
And Dr Barber, I think this is the “pity face” that you said Luna gave you this morning before her spay correct? It’s the same face she is making now for this picture!
