Please do not bring your family here. My husband almost died in this place. They’re were no doctor present during my husband’s stay only virtual and nurses and staff had no clue. I’d hate to see anyone’s loved one going through what we did..stay away please.

Visit: 9/12/2022 6-9:30 PMI wasn't surprised at the 3 hour wait time for a nearly empty ER. What did surprise me was the poor treatment given for all that I have to pay for insurance and to see someone "qualified" to care for my health. When I was called, the nurse took my vitals and temp. She asked what my symptoms were. I told her congestion, sinus pressure headaches, cough, sore throat, fatigue, loss of appetite, and that my eyes were closed shut for three days with mucus. She then said the doctor would be in. Dr. A.W ( I'll disclose your name even though you didn't disclose my privacy) comes in and asks me what's going on. I TOLD HIM that I believe I had a bad sinus infection and pink eye. He then proceeds to check my tonsils and says clear. He listens to my lungs and says they are good. He looked up my nose and said that my passages weren't blocked. So at this point , I'm trying to figure out what's my synopsis. He then asked me about my profession . I told him teacher, so he then asked what grade level, and I responded. He then says, " Oh, no wonder why- you've got Mono also known as kissing disease". He said it as if he knew for sure! I'm sitting there like how can I possibly have something you didn't test me for?. I've never been diagnosed with that disease - nor have I had symptoms like that! He then said he would prescribe me something for the infection ( sinus and eye) but he couldn't test me for mono at the ER due to the fact that they didn't have those type of test there. He did verify that I had some type of virus because of the lymph nodes, but out of all the random viruses you could say- MONO???! He leaves out of the room and before he is barely a foot out the door, he YELLS out to someone - " Yea it's mono, she's got mono". I thought that under the national health privacy act, you aren't supposed to disclose my information without consent?! That was so unprofessional! The nurse comes back with my paperwork, and so I then proceed to ask her for a back to work notice. She then proceeds to say the doctor told her I didn't need one. Excuse me? I'm feeling like hot garbage and even with this half crap diagnosis of not 1, not. 2, but 3 things and all the money I pay- I can't have a back to work notice? If you need to go to a hospital in Mansfield, please DO NOT go to this one. They treat you like you're cattle and just mark you and move you around. I like doctors that actually do their jobs instead of just labeling people to get a check. I take my profession as a teacher seriously because I don't play with people's livelihood, and I would think that a health care professional would hold the same standard. Just as I would like someone to call me out when I'm not doing my job, this is your personal wake up call. The following day, I go to Experian Urgent Care in Arlington. They took good care of me and checked everything that I spoke of. The doctor also agreed that the diagnosis from Dr. A.W. was odd. She then offers a steroid shot and gives the mono test. IT WAS NEGATIVE!!! At the end of the day, Baylor Scott Emergency Hospital- you must do better. Your ratings aren't poor for just any reason. As far as Dr. A.W. goes- don't have such a big mouth! People record everything now a days, and the next person might record you and you'll be sitting somewhere where they can take away your "certification". I'm not trying to get anyone fired, but I had to tell my experience of the unfair treatment I received as a patient. That performance was poor and I'm sure years of practice and taking those exams are worth more than what I received.

If there were a zero this would be the place. I was advised by my consulting RN that I needed to be seen within an hour based on the symptoms I described over the phone. She felt that it might be an infection. Note...this was a Sunday evening so choices were limited. My husband and I got to Baylor around 6:15. We waited 45 minutes to be seen and there was NO ONE in the waiting room. The front desk personnel said 2 things to me; "You need to put your mask on" (as I was setting my water bottle down to free up my hands) and "this is a regular emergency room visit". That's it...nothing else. At 7:00 we got my insurance card and drivers license back from her and left. Now we wait, and pray it's nothing too serious that develops into something worse overnight. For the record I am 57 years old, 101.6 temp, sinuses completely plugged, a little worried.

This place is Amazing for fast, friendly care. The Doctors are fast and the nurses are so friendly and helpful. I've never been to an emergency room where they actually seem to care about your care like this place does. I will no longer go anywhere else in case of an emergency. They have seen both me and my husband at different times and the experience was the same. Highly recommended!

I went there because I was having flu or covid symptoms. I had chest pain, cough, and body aches. I felt miserable. After telling the receptionist my symptoms, she said they didnt give covid test because they don't have anymore. I asked how was I going to be thoroughly diagnosed. If I have covid, flu, and other symptoms.then I need to be checked for all.symptoms. The nurse then told me the doctor would see me and it is up to him. I then asked so then you do have testing. I said I am not just here for testing but I wanted to be accurately diagnosed. She called a nurse up then who proceeded to get angry about the question and asked why I was arguing. I told her she was stereotyping me because I am not arguing. I am asking a valid question. Other people in the lobby saw how I was being treated and they referred me to another emergency room. I believe I was discriminated against. Don't go here. It is awful.

After spending several hours in the waiting room at another hospital, I decided to go Baylor. I was in and out in less than an hour. At the other hospital I was waiting to just get moved to the hallway to get an IV started. The dr at Baylor examined me first and determined I did not need an IV and he knew exactly what was wrong. I was very impressed with how clean the facility was and how nice everyone was. My nurse Brandy was very helpful and caring. I highly recommend this hospital.
