I scheduled to board my dog with them and it went smoothly and they were very sweet people.I had an unexpected change of plans and called to cancel my reservation 5 days in advance. When I made my deposit I was not informed that they would keep my deposit even if I canceled far in advance. I was told because of the size of their facility that they keep the deposit. Please inform your customers of this in advance before they book the reservation. They are very nice people but that seems pretty shady to me.Now I am out 115 dollars, which I’m sure no one wants to just lose like that.

We had our dog, Sadie, at Pawsitive Care while we went on a cruise last week. Sadie was attacked a few years ago (NOT at Pawsitive Care) and is very shy around other dogs. We talked to everyone regarding this and were assured she would be fine. When we picked her up, we could tell she had an amazing time! She was happy, playing, and excited that she had just jumped in the pool! We had a great experience and will be back when we need to board again. Thank you.

I’ve been debating writing this review all week and think it’s best for everyone that I do. This is long but I’ll leave a TLDR at the bottom.I called Pawsitive Care 3 weeks ago asking about their Board & Train program, I let them know I had a lab puppy who just needed basic foundation training but was overall very well behaved (we really lucked out!). I asked how long they recommended I send him there for, and was told 2 weeks would be perfect since he was young and didn’t have any bad manners. I asked if 3 weeks was needed, she said no. He was already potty trained, crate trained, and knew sit so I just wanted some more basic commands down. When I dropped him off, I wasn’t given a tour or told what to expect. The two young ladies at the facility were very nice and seemed to have a good grasp of things. So I called Ashley after dropping him off to let her know that he was there and ready to train. She was very open to me about him taking a few days to settle in and made sure I understood that every dog is different and works at their own pace, which I was clear on. I was never under any impression this would be a one time training, I know it’s an ongoing process that requires a lot of patience.Let me be clear - I am 100% a helicopter dog mom. This is my first dog and I’ve gone above and beyond to make sure he has a solid foundation (hence spending over $1k for training). And I guess that’s why I was a bit disappointed- I had to call daily to get any form of update, I didn’t receive any photos unless it was posted on the main IG page, and in the 2 weeks he was there I only received one report card. So if you’re a dog parent like me, this place is not for you. When I picked Wally up, we had a 15 min discussion about what he had been working on. In the 2 weeks that he was there, he learned “sit”, “come”, somewhat knew “down” and some basic leash manners. That’s kind of it. There is no doubt that he had an amazing time there and got to socialize and grow in confidence- I am not even debating that. But I’m terms of actual obedience training, I don’t think he received much. If he had needed an additional week, I would have been open to it had there been more communication.I went home with my puppy, relieved to have him back. I made sure to stay strict with him to maintain any training he had received but quickly realized he didn’t know anything new to what he did prior to being dropped off. I called Ashley to let her know and was a little bit surprised when she told me that “2 weeks isn’t very long, 3 or 4 weeks would have been better” since I had specifically asked her when making the booking. She seemed pretty ok with my disappointment and didn’t offer any kind of 1-on-1 training that could potentially clear up any of my concerns, or offer any verbal commands that I was unaware of. I have spoken to 2 other trainers since picking him up and they were both surprised that 2 weeks was insufficient for basic obedience training since he was so young and quick to pick up verbal commands by them.SUMMARY: I sent my puppy for 2 week board and train, and basically received 2 weeks of board and daycare. Glad my puppy got socialized and had fun but he did not learn anything while there. Nice people, rural facility (my fault I didn’t ask for a tour, can’t offer any insight on the facility itself) but wouldn’t recommend Board & Train there. Spend a few hundred extra dollars elsewhere if you prefer to be more updated, a structured plan and included in your dog’s training. Not sure if they are overwhelmed by boarding and daycare because of the summer but not worth it to me.

This place is excellent. My dog has stayed here twice, each stay for about 2 weeks. He has done better here than anywhere. They have great communication and really try to make it a fun place for the dogs. They will also send photos to you of your dog while they are there.

my dog didn’t really learn much. everything i asked for them to work on didn’t even improve one bit. the people are nice however all they really trained her on were things she already knew. personally they didn’t work for me at all, they even tried to get me to have her stay another week which would cost more money. way too expensive for something that didn’t even work. they’re also bad at updating and answering their phones. sometimes I had to call multiple times to get through. also the blanket i brought there smells like pee and it was supposed to remind her of home!Edit: There we’re multiple times where i’ve called and it rang till voicemail, i left a voice mail and no call back until i called again. communications were bad. i contacted you guys after i took her home because she threw up after eating things from your facility and i got nothing but that it’s usual and she prob ate something but there were purple things and i know she did not consume it from the time i picked her up. the 2 weeks she spent with y’all should have taught her something but she’s the same as i took her. you expect me to pay for 4 weeks when the first 2 did nothing?im VERY disappointed in this training

Ashley and everyone at Pawsitive Care are amazing. They helped with socializing my dog and we will continue to bring him from time to time to keep him socially savvy!! Their prices are fair on training and boarding and you can tell they love pups.

Ashley is very experienced and excellent at reading dog behavior and handling dogs of all types and sizes!! They really care for your pups and treat them like family, which is so important She's also a great support if you ever need advice or tips on how to help keep your dog well trained and acclimated - she is an amazing trainer. Pawsitive Care is located in Manvel with about an acre of land for your pup to really enjoy their time away, the space is clean and well kept with different areas for play, training and socializing, they treat your pups well and the social time they get with other dogs there is so crucial! They take care to make sure all the dogs are safe, verifying shots, taking preventatives to avoid any fleas, ticks, etc and to make sure the right dogs get together to avoid any issues! We also love the daily pics she sends us when boarding ? Highly recommend for training, boarding, day care or social time!! We trust and appreciate Pawsitive with our miniature dachshund

Very knowledgeable, very helpful, and seem to genuinely care for the dogs. I'm very hesitant about leaving loved ones with strangers but I have no qualms about leaving my pup with any of these people who work here. Our puppy made great strides after a couple weeks with them. Will go back in the future if we ever need anything.

The staff was very good. Our waitress perfect. The food we had was not anything exceptional. We have been to the Stafford location for years and loved it. The food was different here.

I was at my wits end with my adult rescue that could not be potty trained, had separation anxiety, and barked at other dogs and people. I had tried other pricey trainers with no progress. I didn't know what else I could do, so I sent my dog to Pawsitive Care for the three week training program and I'm so glad I did! He came back fully potty trained and so much calmer. Ashley answered all my questions and concerns during and after the training. I can't recommend Pawsitive Care enough!

We are so glad that we had Ashley get our puppy Otis off to a good start with the puppy basics. Ashley answered all our questions before we started and was very supportive and provided status and pictures for us the entire time Otis was training with her. The differences we saw in Otis’s behavior were amazing. In particular the jumping up on people was a thing of the past. Also, he wasMuch improved walking on a leash. I highly recommend Ashley and we areGrateful for her help!Amanda

I am writing this review to inform anyone seeking out a dog trainer NOT to use Pawsitive Care. Our 4 month old puppy came home early from this facility very ill, with blood in her stool (expensive vet visit the day we picked her up), she had fleas all over her, she was extremely dehydrated and lethargic, she has yellow stains on her back legs that the vet told me were most likely from sleeping in her own urine all night. She also was not potty trained, not play biting trained or basic command trained at the end of her stay. She knows what a treat is though now. Everything mentioned in the details of this puppy training package is a lie. I could not be more disappointed in an experience. When you trust someone with your new baby and they abuse them this way, it is honestly heartbreaking. The owner took zero responsibility verbally for what happened and continued to explain how her illness (11 days into her stay there) couldn’t have occurred because of her. Even though they have chickens roaming their property and it was not clean at all. I say all of this to be honest for those seeking out care for their pet. I chose this place because of decent ratings. I know how important the truth is for those with fur babies. Choose a different trainer.
