Nice stop while driving through marfa.
It's free and we were then only ones there.
Helpful staff and nice art.

Visited on 8/10/2024- “Steady”
Had feelings of emptiness and despair, absolutely nothing was “Steady” , no balance , no vision , fantastically under curated.

I visited Ballroom Marfa specifically to view their latest and greatest exhibition, "Mariposa Relampago" by Guadalupe Maravilla. It is a stunning sight to behold! I also really enjoyed the current exhibit in the gallery, "Perhaps the Truth." Both are definitely worth a visit!

Not worth the trip, expense Or misguided hype, if it is even open, like area of country and community it is within which has more in common with undeveloped or war tore Middle East but less clean than what is commonly associated with Texas Desert. Proof that Marfa, Not California #2 or Vt #3, is the rotten underbelly of the Art World. Continue on Intestate 10 East to more sober and stable environments.

The Latinx art currently on display was beautiful and intriguing.Would prefer traditional artwork labels on the walls, though. The description booklet was not super intuitive, and required too much flipping back and forth through pages to match the piece’s number to the description.

We had some laughs. We are not "connoisseurs of fine art".

Wonderfully curated exhibition about language & thought is currently being shown, & there were pieces would have not seen elsewhere. Love the fact that while there on a weekday it was open, a small donation is asked, there was a brochure for bios & explanations, & you could just take your time. The front desk is happy to answer questions; wish I'd been able to stay & see the movie they show in the evening. Front door is hard to find (a slider on the side street), but once you enter it's another world. Highly recommend.

There was a certain peacefulness to the Ballroom, and the exhibits- there was a short film that made you think - about a lifestyle that may only reside in the Deep West. The whole area makes you bring your whole demeaner down a few notches. I liked it.

Excellent curatorship. We liked the exhibits but the level of artists really varies. The front desk person was quite helpful. A must visit if you like art. Entrance is free but donations are encouraged.
