It's a bed and a shower out in the middle of the desert. I didn't see any bed bugs like other post, room was clean, plenty of hot water, price was not bad but not reasonable for the amenities provided. Staff was friendly, no breakfast, not even coffee. If I'm back in the area I would definitely consider staying again.

Great little motel at a good price and perfect location, a short drive down to the Marfa lights viewing area. Front desk is very helpful and accommodating. The rooms are a little older and nothing fancy, sure, but gets the job done. Beds were very comfortable and the whole room was cleaned very well. Very clearly disinfected. I was a solo female traveler and felt very safe. Would stay again!

Riata Inn Marfa was exactly what we were looking for. The room was very large, the motel location was just blocks from downtown and the cost was much lower than many of the other options in Marfa.

BIG SHOUT OUT TO Riata Inn in Marfa TX for the rooms, Service, Location and Price. We checked in on the way back from a funeral in Mexico. We were exhausted! Our car had a bad tire and we weren't able to drive it into town to get a bite to eat. Despite not knowing us, the owner gave my son and I a ride into town to pick up some food.
In this day and time, hardly anyone does this. THANK YOU!! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! You can’t imagine what your kind gesture meant to my son and I. The rooms were affordable, clean and I loved the original decorations in the bathroom! I am only sorry I didn’t take the time to take a picture of the towel holder with the original spurs. Marfa is a small town with alot of traffic and despite all this, The owner came to our aid. I can’t thank you enough, I will definitely stay there next time I go that way. The outdoor swimming pool looked awesome and clean and my aunt and uncle didn’t have to climb ANY stairs, ANOTHER +!!!
I was in room 105 and my uncle and aunt were in room 104.
KUDOS Sir!! May your business thrive!

I was at my very last night of a 1.5 month road trip and was an absolute mess and Riata Inn was the most wonderful, warm and welcoming stays I had the entire time.
I locked myself out past closing hours and was, without any prompt at all, given a partial refund for the trouble. I would have appreciated the stay regardless, as my cat did get to fully enjoy the spacious and well temperature'd room, but this kind treatment on top of everything was definitely above and beyond.
I can also assure you, as someone trying to (very calmly and politely) break into my room at midnight, these doors and windows are extremely secure. My room's neighbor was also very kind and spent some time with me during this debacle, and I feel the need to add this part since he is a regular visitor of the Riata Inn, which reflects the warmth I felt even though I was a disheveled, worn down mess.
I wish my stay in Marfa was longer and I hope to be back soon.
Thank you!

Container Unit #1
I had a wonderful stay. The room was quaint and the bed was comfortable. The night sky and roof viewing platform were great. I would suggest that management consider putting together a kitchen essentials kit for guests upon request. The small kitchenette has a microwave and refrigerator, but there are no cups, dishes, or silverware.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay! This vintage motor lodge has been nicely renovated, and upgraded with the latest amenities. If you're planning to visit Marfa, but don't want to pay the prices of the boutique hotels downtown, you can confidently stay at Riata. Recommend!

The location is great, it's on the outskirts of Marfa, but close enough to be right there. The rooms are just ok. For a 2 star hotel I still expect cleanliness and quality. Our room was in poor repair and dirty. Fixtures were scratched and rusty. Wires were exposed. The beds are cheap. The floor had candle wax dripped on it. The staff were friendly, but not overly so. Pass on this place if you can find anything else in Marfa. I felt it was a poor value for what I paid.

My friend and I had a wonderful last-minute stay at this hotel! The main man working the front office was exceptionally kind and accommodating, with the perfect dinner recommendation (El Turista!). Our room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a cozy stay. Thank you for such a great experience!

We stayed in one of the Glamp Inn units and loved the rooftop deck and looking at the stars. The room was small but it worked great for us and had everything we needed.

First time going to marfa for a wedding. Mind you this is a 2 star hotel but overall it felt like 5 star hotel. So with that in mind when you leave reviews make sure you understand what your reviewing is for what it is. Great staff from the custodial lady (we didn’t catch her name) and to Jean in the front. They’re very communicative and helpful! Traveled with my spouse, child, and two kittens. There is a pet deposit fee but what do you expect when you take your pets. It was quiet and the pool was clean. If we ever have to stay in Marfa Texas again we will stay here.

The website was confusing. I decided to drive over from Alpine to stay in one of the cute container rooms they advertise on the same page as the old rooms at the Inn. I was surprised, and disappointed, when I arrived and was told I was in one of the rooms in the old motel. I expressed my disappointment and confusion and was told that the containers weren't even ready to be rented. So why have their pictures on your booking site?? I wanted to cancel, but was inside the 48 hour cancelation period (I had only booked 40 minutes earlier), so no go. If the room had been nice, I probably wouldn't even write a review, but it wasn't! If it had been reasonably priced for what it was, I definitely wouldn't have written a review. It was clean, and had hard floors which is so much better than carpet in a motel, but the remodel was, well, like putting lipstick on a pig! The furniture had all been replaced with basic motel stuff except for the table, which I assume was left there from the 50's to fill space, as was the worn naugahyde couch from the 70's. The room was dark and there was no light over the desk making it impossible to actually work there. They have put black countertops in the bathroom which is a bad idea when you have hard water - it's hard for a guest to tell if the counter just hasn't been wiped, or they just don't know how to remove mineral deposits. To top it off, no coffee! Fortunately, I found a really cute coffee shop in town. Thumbs down from me for being very overpriced and the poor customer service that made me stay there even though their website let me think I was booking something that wasn't even available.

We stayed here for two nights since we have a wedding and had a 5+ star experience. Not only the rooms were so big and clean, but the guy in the front also helped us with our car problems. He didn’t have to but we are so grateful for his services! Would definitely stay here again when we come back. Thank you so much again!! ??
