I’ve been a loyal client here for years, always booked regularly, and left 5-star reviews. Unfortunately, today I felt completely disrespected and devalued by Matt. I wasn’t happy with my highlights and returned for a correction, which is sometimes normal in this industry. Instead of handling it professionally, he was demeaning and dismissive:
• Said he had to come early to fix something he didn’t even know what.
• Criticized my extensions, claiming he should have charged me $100 more, implying I probably got them from a friend 6–7 months ago.
• When I asked for my highlights to pop, he said I probably hadn’t washed my hair since last service, which was demeaning, untrue.
• Told me to book with someone else, pay again for correction, and suggested he may not want to deal with me in the future.
Feeling disrespected, I left. Reception said Rich, the owner, would call me—he never did. After years of loyalty, one issue I had was handled with no respect or care. Disturbing experience.

I had an amazing experience at 209 Salons in McKinney with Marcia! She gave me a fantastic shag haircut styled perfectly like Sally Field’s iconic look in Smokey and the Bandit. Marcia really listened to what I wanted and nailed the style with precision and flair. The salon atmosphere was welcoming and professional, and I left feeling confident and refreshed. Highly recommend Marcia if you want a skilled stylist who truly understands vintage-inspired cuts with a modern touch!

My daughters and I absolutely love this place, especially Sydney! All of the stylists are talented, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. The complimentary gift for first- time visitors is a wonderful bonus. We especially loved the hairbrush that came with it!

I had only hair cut and hair treatment, the haircut is ok, but the hair treatment were really great, my hair is really processed very light white highlights that I have done it in other salon that I do my hair normally. The treatment very nice that made my hair really smooth. My experience with Cara wasn't bad at all. Price is reasonable as well.

Shauney is amazing!!! I couldn’t recommend her enough. She made me feel like an absolute queen. I’ve already scheduled my next appointment with her and I will be bringing my daughters to her for their back to school hair.

To start off I want to say everyone in the salon was very nice that does not mean I was happy with the service I received. My biggest concern was wanting something different I asked for a balayage keeping my roots the same and lightening up the rest I specifically asked not to have a brassiness, yellow, orange color. I actually NOW Alike the way my hair was before besides needing a hair cut I HAD some brassiness but now it’s completely brassy. I was attached to my hair but it def needed a good cut, my stylist asked me where I part my hair I showed her, she acknowledged then after we finish the foils, rinsing she continues to cut my hair and has my part the OPPOSITE way of which I part my hair. It’s like she didn’t pay attention or did whatever she wanted. I should have listened to the reviews but I wanted something the same day and they accommodated to my schedule. I haven’t had my hair done in 2 years and this is the reason why. My hair turned out brassy, which I didn’t want. The tips of my hair is very blonde the rest is brassy/ yellow. She didn’t ask if I liked my hair, she went on break when my hair was in the foil which is fine it’s a long process we need a break. But came back and all I could smell is cigarettes. I was upset how short my hair is but realized it needed to be cut to look healthier but bc she parted it the opposite way it def looks uneven. The color is awful, she didn’t use toner because “it lifted great” but I don’t think she cared about what I wanted to achieve. Didn’t ask me if I liked it. I paid nearly 400$ and was going to pay for the extensions but ended up liking the length and will keep up with trims. Now I have to wait months to have someone else fix this bronzy, yellow, brassy mess. I work in high end customer service and you should ALWAYS listen to your client. I told her I didn’t want my hair curled because I had plans and my hair doesn’t hold curls, I didn’t want to straighten my hair and she proceeds and says “i want to curl it”??? I did end up tipping her 20% because we all deserve to be paid for our work even if it’s awful. But next time I will schedule and app with a professional who actually knows what they’re doing, idc if I’m out of pocket 700. Every time I asked a question she could never get me a straight forward answer she just didn’t know and definitely doesn’t know how to balayage. I hate making reviews but what I hate worse is wasting 4 hours of my time and 400$ for hair that I hate.

Other 2 is my hair now and the last one is before. I can’t believe how yellowish/ gold my hair is now it definitely looked better before I walked in that place. Maybe next time actually tone it.

Shauney is The Best!!! She gives me so many pointers each time I see her. I got a cut and color and she added so much more texture and lift to this fine hair that keeps its shape and style all day! So happy to have found her and 209 Salon McKinney!

I've been coming to this salon for a few years after moving to the area and have tried a few different stylists, but once I found Matt, I knew I had to stick with him! I was nervous about getting the right cut for my bangs, but he absolutely nailed it and has made me love my hair again. My color and cut are always amazing—he listens, gives great advice, and delivers quality results every time. If you're looking for a stylist who truly knows what they’re doing, I highly recommend Matt!
Rich (who I believe is the owner?) is always so welcoming too. And their hair products are high quality, yet affordable! Glad I found this salon.

Excellent service and stying ! Great experience and love that I found a my new stylist ! I relocated from Houston to Dallas area Shauney did a great cut, highlites , low lites and stying ! Very knowledgeable . Highly recommend
