I made the mistake of going in with pictures of what I wanted my hair to look like…guess I’m the only one in the world to do that because the owner said i had unrealistic expectations. The pictures were of myself ?? how unrealistic of me.

Go literally anyone else, had a bad experience with a hairdresser here then played phone tag with the owner for about 2 weeks then finally she asks for me to come in. Come in and i said I wanted to remove split ends while keeping length. Her response was basically: you can't do that without cutting it short. Weird. I've gone to other salons where they've removed the split ends while keeping length. So then I referenced a photo, not a stock photo but a picture of myself by a hairdresser that moved away. Which is the reason I went to another salon, to find another hairdresser. She said I had a specific expectation and to go back to that hairdresser that cut my hair like the photo. First of all, who DOESNT go to the salon with an expectation or stock photo or wanting their hair cut a certain way when they go to a salon? Second she said she's been cutting hair for so long and thinks she can cut it the way I want it BUT I have a very specific expectation. I'm confused, you can do it but don't want me unhappy with your result? Ok. No problem, I appreciate that you were thinking of me but not before asking me to make another trip to the salon, giving me the impression that you were going to rectify a situation by having me sit in your chair and put that cape around me? She gave me my money back in the end but not without arguing with me first and asking me to waste a trip. As a business owner, maybe ask for the reference photo PRIOR to the trip, the arguing with a client. If you have any expectations for your haircut, don't go to this salon. If you want to go in, sit down and say "do what you want"....still go somewhere else.

My family has been going to Bee for around 5 years now! She is absolutely the best hairstylist. She is patient and you can tell she really wants the outcome to be something you love and appreciate. She is very patient and kind to my sister who is special needs! She’s been coloring my hair and my sisters who had virgin hair she has done an amazing job at explaining the steps! I had been a client at A New Chi for the past 3 years, but unfortunately I won’t be returning. I went in for a cut and color, didn’t request anything complicated, just simple blonde highlights on my light brown hair. My cut is not complex- one long layer with some face framing. Last year for this exact same thing it cost me $200. I was expecting the same price as no one notified me prices had changed when booking the appointment for this. At the end of the visit, they serve me a bill for $300. I got some roundabout explanation that since I didn’t have any color already on my hair it cost more, and their products have increased so prices increased… by a whole HUNDRED dollars?! Also, have never heard color to cost more if you don’t already have any…? I was then told “next time we could discuss price beforehand if it’s a problem”. My tip would be if you are going to up-charge THAT much you absolutely need to discuss before you assume that’s going to be okay. I thought it was very unprofessional and frankly not worth $300.

I red review before choosing this Salon, yet absolutely disappointed, I requested coloring coffee red solon and hair cut, yet the color comes out the top just whole black and the end shows a little red, and I asked why the color had so big difference, she said because the hair color change is normal, like I had never do hair solon before, if she couldn't make my hair color matches, why I chose you to do the color.And the hair cut also not what I expected, not professional and I totally understood on Sunday why I was the only guest there.Services: Haircut

Got my hair cut this afternoon for the first time by Bee. I warned her ahead of time I may want to keep going shorter and she was so patient and accommodating. I’m really picky about my hair, but I absolutely love my new cut! I think we ended up cutting about 12 inches total and it looks fresh, shiny, and blends well together. My Mom also had hers done by Kim at the same time and is also loving it! A great local find.

The 4.9 rating and reviews speak for themselves! This is an amazing salon that is run by Bee, the owner. She keeps her salon incredibly nice and clean, has friendly staff, and does an amazing job with men’s (and of course women’s) haircuts and styling. Bee’s salon is HIGHLY recommended, and I will definitely be returning. Thanks Bee!

I’ve been getting my hair cut from Kim for several years now.I actually moved from McKinney to Dallas, and I still come back up to McKinney, in order to get my hair cut from her.Kim is extremely professional, sweet and does an AMAZING job every time. I cannot sing her praises enough.If you are looking for a stylist, Kim is the one.The New Chi Salon & Spa has a great atmosphere and Bee and the other stylists make each visit I have an absolute pleasure. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!!!!????

I got a full color and haircut at A New Chi done by TONG, and I just want everyone to know how incredible she is. Tong did EXACTLY what I asked for, and I couldn’t be happier. It’s been a week since my appointment, and I still feel the same way. She is highly skilled and pays very close attention to detail. I had A LOT of grey that had grown out over the past year of the pandemic and she didn’t miss a single hair while applying the color. She left the color on the perfect amount of time, and when she washed my hair afterwards it was very relaxing. Tong also gave me the best haircut I’ve had in many years, my hair looks so much healthier. I’m very happy I found A New Chi Salon. Thank you Tong!(They have Aveda color and products which is why I initially went, I love Aveda)
