Cleanliness Should Apply to Everyone, Not Just Selectively
Review:
At this gym, treadmill runners often sweat heavily and, in deep heavy breaths, sometimes blow saliva and sweat into the air and on to the machines during their session. I’ve also seen people leave without wiping down their equipment — some don’t even seem to know where the disinfectant wipes are. I, on the other hand, always clean my machines after use. ALWAYS!
Despite this, I recently had an unpleasant interaction with the Coach who confronted me when I blew my nose. For the record: I wasn’t sick, had no mucus, and I’m extremely careful. I always use three paper napkins — placing the tissue in the middle one, folding it neatly, and ensuring it never touches the cup holder or any shared surface.
Instead of giving me the chance to explain, he judged me instantly and moved on. If cleanliness is his concern, why not speak to me respectfully and hear my side first?
And here’s my question — there’s a doctor who often comes in during the evenings still wearing medical scrubs. If germs are truly the issue, why isn’t he confronted in the same way? Is there a double standard here?
I hope management ensures that cleanliness and respect are applied consistently, so members feel safe and fairly treated.
The 4th treadmill has been broken for a while now. If the attention could've been put towards fixing the equipment and not on people and their paper napkins, that would make this place a bit better and helpful.

Brandon and Lenny are awesome! Extremely professional, interact with all clients and are very informative and helpful. Having them there is a must!

I joined Anytime Fitness May 8, 2025. I was greeted by Coach Brandon, he was extremely helpful in the registration process. He explained to me how the gym has cameras everywhere and the gym is opened 24/7. I loved that you needed a special access pass to get into the gym. A great safety feature. Coach Brandon also told me I would have a body composition analysis If I would like. He told me I would be assigned to Coach Lenny.
I had an appointment with Coach Lenny at 10 am the following morning. He was extremely nice. He asked me what I wanted to accomplish as well as my goals. He explained to me these things were doable but I needed to put the work in as well as diet changes etc. He then did the body composition analysis. A nice way of telling me I was fat. 😆 He explained to me how my weight was distributed etc.
Coach Lenny, showed me how all the machines worked. And each time let me experience them myself. I haven't been in a gym in years and I am a senior citizen. It was nice to see that I was treated extremely well and with the upmost respect. He also made me feel comfortable and was easy to talk too.
The gym is kept up very well, nice and clean. It is a very safe environment and not overly crowded. I have been there 3 times since joining and will hold myself accountable to losing the weight. I joined through silver and fit. However, my goal is to be silver and fine. All I can say is that Anytime Fitness is a great place to start if you are looking for a really good gym! They have every type of equipment to train on and opened 24/7. Their name says it all.

At stop #39 on my Sacramento-to-Texas Anytime Fitness quest, I visited a gym in McKinney, Texas. It has a welcoming, open layout with well-organized equipment. Upon entering, you are greeted with a table of offerings like wrist bands for motivation and branded lanyards. Cardio machines are arranged first, each with entertainment screens and smooth, easy-to-clean handlebars. The weight machines feature the bright orange adjustment knobs that are simple to use and free weights in the last row. To the right is a spacious mat area with multiple TRX stations and gym bars. The facility is clean, and restrooms and showers are spotless. A few suggestions that that I’ve seen in others gyms are being mentioned just to think about: adding a charging station, a larger trash can in the shower, and paper towels alongside air dryers. Towels are my favorite for wiping down surfaces after use. Overall, a well-maintained gym with thoughtful equipment and layout.

Great gym. Lots of dumbbells in multiple areas of gym. Brandon is the manager. He’s a big muscular guy but friendly and professional. His gym is spotless. Super clean. Lenny is the trainer. He’s excellent and very knowledgeable.

This gym is awesome, I've worked out here a couple times and the gym is spotless, well-equipped, and welcoming. Derrick is great up front with his professionalism and enthusiasm. I always feel comfortable and valued when I’m there. If you’re thinking about joining, this gym is definitely worth a visit!

Gym is great. Always clean and ample equipment and never crowded.The staff not so much. Been a member several years. Wife wanted to try a 7 day trial and we clicked for this location for the trial since right next to our house. Went there and the staff said they don't do trial memberships even though it's on their website. They said go to a different anytime fitness as their gym is too busy.Decided to join a different gym after several years at this one after this experience as wife was less than impressed.Dropped in to cancel membership last week and they gave me an email address to send me an email to. They said I can't do it in person.I emailed but I guess I got the email wrong as it bounced. Called 6-7 times during staffed hours and no one ever answered. Left 2-3 VMs with no return calls. The last time I called someone answered and then hung up immediately. Then they sent me a text within a few minutes of what email address to send to for cancel...Sent the email and they said it'll be canceled on 1st of May because they process cancelations on the 1st.. Told them I've been trying to cancel since last week of March but they wouldn't answer the phone. Of course no response to that email.Gym is great just hope you don't need any help from staff..**Just responding to owners response**Then don’t offer the 7 day trial on Anytimes website.I did send the email to wrong address.. I also called 6-8 and left multiple voicemails asking for the correct email. Took a week to get a text reply, not call back to get the correct email.So instead of canceling my membership April 1st it goes to May 1st… The $50 or whatever who cares. The lack of care from response and your staff speaks volume.The female who ran the front before was awesome. Not so much anymore.

Quiet, clean has all the equipment you need for basic workouts, best part is you can go there ANYTIME!

I’ve come 6 times during staff hours to sign up in the past two weeks. There is literally no one here during posted hours. Which sucks because this is probably the least busy gym in the area.Edit to add I called the 3rd time and someone who the phone transferred to at another location promised that someone at the McKinney location would reach out to me. Never happened.

Giving 1 star since the water cooler has been broken for a while(> 8 months) but has been not been fixed. The cooling does not work at all and the water smells of mud. Too stingy for a $29.99 bi-weekly fee. The equipment and everything else is good.
