Today was our first visit here for my son’s sick visit. Overall, it was a good experience. The front desk was polite but the medical assistant was a bit impersonal and unfriendly, hence the reason for 4/5 stars. I brushed this off as we were there to see the pediatrician and not her. With that being said, Dr. Timbo was very pleasant and helped us with a diagnosis and care plan for my child. Thank you, Dr. Timbo!

Very courteous front desk and great doctors! Most pedeatrics have Dr.s who only see well patients and physician assistants only see sick patients. At this location the Dr.s see all patients. Great staff all around!

I have called every cooks children's facility in the surrounding area to transfer my medically complicated son to a Cook's Children bc it looks to operate much like what we are used to in Houston with Texas Children's. Low and behold because he is on a Managed Medicaid - Star Kids plan through his disability, none of the providers in the area will accept him even though it states on your website (and on the insurance website) that his plan is accepted. So if we are going to discriminate against disabled patients simply based on their insurance, you might want to remove the information from your website.

I wouldn’t recommend this place. Poor diagnostic and prescription. Doctor prescribed a lotion worth of $1600 after insurance coverage for itch relief. Checked with doctor and it took two days to reach the doctor to get alternate medicine.

I have been coming here since shortly after I had my twins in 2016. I have seen every provider in this practice, including Dr. Neil who founded it. Some providers have a different approach than others. If you feel you aren't getting your needs met with one feel free to try the others. All of them are trained professionals and if anytime I have needed a 2nd opinion I was promptly referred to specialists of the like. Any mistakes made by people are human error and I don't view small mishaps as deal breakers. The front staff is very friendly. I have never had an issue with anyone. I realize for some people the transition to Cook Children's was different, but it's still a reputable business. I bring all 4 of my children here. My questions to the nurse line are always returned same day. I have actually dealt with a terrible Pediatrician, so I know what one looks like and this is not one. Kim who is the Nurse Practioner is my favorite. She is very thorough and follows up with us as well. I also like their newest provider Dr. Timbow, he's very gentle and easy to talk to. Dr. Joe and Dr. Vernier have never steered me wrong.

Terrible experience. Took my son for annual checkup last month. During the visit they said all good and when we checked the after summary report in the portal it was different. When we called them to check the details they said ‘oh dr could have missed it ‘.I am not going to trust them anymore.

Terrible experience. Dr. Joe was our primary doctor but we tried dr timbow & veirner thinking we could get help for daughters and we just kept getting brushed off. “Oh their fine”Took my 1 year old to urgent care and come to find out she’s had an ear infection this whole time!!!!! Which is exactly what i was complaining about!!! How do 3 doctors miss that?? After a few days on the antibiotics she is a happy baby again. Then my 3 year old caught some type of virus from daycare and we kept getting brushed off with that as well. Several appts later and still no answers as to why she has been throwing up and having diarrhea for weeks now!!!“Just let it run its course”Makes no sense to me. 0 attempt to even find out the cause. Just going off of assumptions. After 3 years with this office I am going to take my babies elsewhere. The incompetence is just too much.Along with the ladies at the front who clearly hate their jobs.

Not sure how they are almost 5 stars. They want to charge upfront every time. Dr Rita jo always just says “she’s fine” anyways lol the only reason they get 2 stars is because I was at least able to get a shot record to move my child to a different pediatrician.

We are moving to the area and as a Registered Nurse I will not be investing my time, money nor care of my two children in the hands of this office/medical staff. The reviews are awful!!

We have really liked this office but as others have stated everything changed when it became part of Cooks. My son has been going to them since birth and now they don't take either of our insurances which is incredibly disappointing. They didn't even bother to tell me at our visit either. I received a letter in the mail from my insurance 2 days after his well exam.

My daughter has been a patient at this office since 2019 when they were Mckinney Pediatrics. My son became a patient after the office was taken over by Cooks. We had no issues before the take over, and had many issues with the front desk staff after the take over. However, we had no issues with the care from the NP Kim, so we stayed with the practice. My son has had many issues with ear infections resulting in tube placement in the beginning of March. At the end of March he had a 9 month well visit with Cooks, here is what happened that week:Monday - 9m well visit: Kim noted slight redness in one ear, but didn't think it looked infected, and said to ask at our already scheduled tube post-op appointment with the ENT that was scheduled for 3 days later.Thursday - ENT: The same slight redness was noted at the ENT appointment, and we were instructed to continue with ear drops. That evening my son developed a fever that remained above 102 with Tylenol/motrin throughout the next day.Friday: Kim did not have any availability in her schedule, but the office were able to "squeeze us in" with Dr Vernier. We had seen Dr Vernier in the past with our daughter, and had no issues. He listened to my sons breathing very quickly, and after I shared the slight redness/tubes/fever history but that these were not his typical ear infection symptoms, Dr Vernier told us that my son had an ear infection and he would call in Augmentin. He looked in the left ear, and VERY briefly looked in the right (the affected ear). After voicing my concerns of feeling a strange click on my son's left side when he was breathing, he brushed off concerns saying it was drainage, and did not offer to listen himself. He was in the room with us for maybe 5 minutes. Coincidentally, he was pulling out of the parking before we were. That night and the next morning my son began vomiting resulting in the augmentin not staying down, and his fever remained.Saturday: His fever was 105 with continued Tylenol/motrin. We took him to urgent care Saturday lunchtime. The NP AND MD at urgent care said there was zero evidence of an ear infection, and to not try give the antibiotics again. Due to fever and lethargy, they were suspecting viral. They did a flu test which was negative, and they said to continue Tylenol/motrin and gave instructions for continued care.Sunday: Sunday morning my son had three episodes where he would turn blue, stop responding, and then stop breathing. After calling 911 we were transported to Children's Medical Center where he tested positive for three different viruses, chest x-ray showed possible pneumonia, and labs had elevated markers not related to the viruses. He was admitted on fluids and IV Antibiotics and stayed in the hospital until Tuesday evening. The ER doctor, NP, Floor Physician, Resident Physician, and Attending Physician all agreed that there was zero evidence of an ear infection, and that both ears were completely clear.I do believe that all of this could have been avoided if we had received not only the correct care, but a correct exam from Dr Vernier at Friday's visit. We were obviously his last patient of the day on a Friday, and it showed. Like I said previously, we were staying with the practice because we had no issues with the care we were receiving from Kim. Unfortunately, I now no longer have trust in the office as a whole.

I've got to say, I was hesitant about coming here based on other reviews. But I'm happy to say we had a positive experience, staff in the reception area were great, nurses were awesome and we couldn't be happier with Dr. Joe and Dr. Timbo.

I LOVE Kim Andrews! She is a Nurse practitioner, and I will choose her 1000 times before the other Doctors! Her ethics and professionalism are top-notch! She is always sweet and careful with my boys and me. She responds to my concerns every time, whether in the consult or through the app messages promptly. I highly recommend Her to take care of your Kids.

Please don’t waste your time. These are not professionals. Dr. Joe walked in for 5 minutes and gave her diagnosis. My sister came in with extremely large and swollen lymph nodes on both sides of her neck, a sore throat, and stated she was in pain. Dr. Joe touched one side of her neck looked at her throat and inside her ears all in a matter of 5 minutes. After doing so she proceeds to tell us that she’s going to call it “swollen lymph nodes” said she’s going to recommend some antibiotics and hopefully it will go away. No tests were done and no effort or explanation of what is going on. Extremely unreliable.
